Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

Funny we're talking about Paper Mario. I just started playing Sticker Star. The first hour or so, I'm thinking, "Yeah, I can see why people hate this game. It's so boring and bland" but then things pick up. Love how it feels more open world and sandbox-ish. The limited space for stickers keeps you on your toes and it's still got some great visuals and use of 3D. Good music too.

It does feel light on characters and writing though. It really feels like Paper Mario Lite. Kind of a shame there are no voice samples either.

Also hoping for a veteran Pokémon character tonight. Seems about time for a reveal.

Pikachu is way, way more popular and important than Raichu.

If he gets the mega he will likely be the only exception to the final evo rule that seems to be in place.
though motherfucking Scyther should get a mega too gatdamnit

You can't really count WFT. It was a part of E3. The only 2 "data points" we have are the other 2. I think we can maybe somewhat get a pattern on how the daily pics will be once September is done.
 
I have some leaked info for the Pokémon Direct tomorrow:

A new character or two every month is a good pace. Even if they've all been veterans so far...

I don't think it's so crazy to expect a few screenshots of a returning Pokemon character tomorrow.

At least for Smash 4, we've gotten a new (veteran) character every month since reveal.

June had gone unveiling with Villager, Mega Man, WFT plus all the veterans
Then July had Olimar
August had Luigi
September has...

And the inevitable September mega Direct will probably have some new characters. No reason not to have another veteran show up tomorrow in the meantime.

It's not crazy to expect a returning character reveal every month, it's a good way to keep hype continuous for the game.

thats what most people think, years ago when I came up with this username I was huge into naruto, I still watch and read naruto just not as huge a fanboy as back then, anyways, it was suppose to be a combination of the 2 series, especially since they both involve foxes

Oh I know. The only reason I put her there was because she wasn't in the main reveal trailer.

Not likely, cause that would obviously spoil some of the starter evolutions, namely the fully evolved one. Game Freak almost never unveils the final starter evos before launch.

Though I would like this.

I don't see it, especially with the "Pokemon The Origin" special coming up. Pkm Trainer will likely stay based on Red. He wasn't the newest trainer in Brawl, so I don't see why they'd change the format now anyway.

Yeah but it will be based on movie Red so the design will suck.

Well to be fair there is nothing in the name that eludes to the greatest game of all time beyond the fox and the direct reference to naruto who has a fox thingy in him...

Yeah, I really doubt Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon will be switched up. They weren't inherently new and "relevant" when Brawl came out, so that doesn't seem to be a reason to dump them now any more than it was to not use them in the first place. The original starters are among the most well known and popular Pokemon in the first place, plus using the first set is playing it safer in terms of representation than picking and choosing any one of the later generations. Sakurai has also gone on record that he is trying to preserve as many of the veterans as possible, so I really don't seem him replacing essentially three whole characters on a whim.

I don't think the anime design will be used at all for Red. Melee had a few trophies based around the anime designs but since Brawl Sakurai has tried to lean closer to the games art style.

During the Brawl Dojo once Zelda was revealed the character pages would appear every few weeks (usually two a month)

with Smash 4 characters so far have been once a month and usually are linked with a game coming out the month, Olimar was revealed for Pikmin 3 and Luigi with M&L4.

Its the only pattern we have, we could get Diddy kong in December, a Pokemon in October, it's just spectacularly, like linking bigfoot with the JFK assassination.
