I keep seeing K.rool pop up. Does he even get aknowleged anymore? Like seriously, does nintendo even care about him at the point.

Recency doesn't matter nearly as much as people think. Heck, no one can even provide any evidence that Sakurai even mentions recency as even something that gets a character noticed outside of non-recurring franchises. And beside, recency only indicates... well... recency, not necessarily the quality of the character.

Take away recency and King K. Rool is a strong contender. He's almost certainly the most wanted Nintendo newcomer and he's the third most important character in the Donkey Kong series.

Not that I think this is likely, but I would like to see Captain Rainbow in Smash. It'd be even better if he got in alongside Wonder Red so we could have some sort of Superhero themed event match.

Oh, and of course you'd have to have an event match with Rainbow, Falcon, and Olimar because they're all Captains.

Lucas will be back for sure. Sakurai intended for Lucas in 64 or Melee, I forget which one but he seems to like the character so his chances are great.

Aside from the forward Smash and 3 specials, Lucas was anything but a clone in my eyes. I hope he gets further differentiation but he is absolutely ok in my book. He outclasses Ness in almost every way too.

I don't think the Wario and Waluigi pair up is a good idea honestly. Wario is so unique as it is compared to Waliuigi I'd hate to see them match up Ice Climbers style. You know with Waluigi's body type I don't think an Ice Climbers duo style would be feasible at all. As much as I hate the idea of Waluigi playable in Smash, if he did get in then his moves should be heavily inspired by every spin off he's been in. Mid air swimming, various sports attacks, etc.

Speaking of them being too unique for an Ice Climbers type of duo, I honestly think that is precisely why Diddy and Dixie didn't work out. We know through Sakurai's own words they were intended to be a duo but it just didn't work. My theory is that despite appearing like duplicates of each other the little Kong's body types did not sync up well enough to pull off the same type of Ice Cimbers role. Basically Dixie and Diddy were too unique from each other. People generally equate Dixie's hair with Diddy's tail, but aside from hanging from floating hooks they always performed very differently in their game together.

Dixie the out house confirmed for Smash.

I would be ok with THAT Pac-man design if he ever does make it in....the new one just bothers me. Also not much a fan of SS Zelda's look, then again ive never really played Zelda:SS other then the beginning.

This was my initial that I've sort of tinkered with since. One thing I'm reconsidering is less cut characters but less full newcomers. Tingle, Goroh, Ridley, Dixie... I'm thinking now that maybe half of them will get in, and instead will keep Ike and Lucario. And Mewtwo is definitely up in the air at this point.

Sort of thinking Lucina would be more interesting than Chrom but I have no real experience with Awakening so I'm not sure how crazy an idea that is. And a Diddy-Dixie tag team seems about as likely to me as her as a standalone.

So I'm really putting the final roster at 42-44 rather than the 46 I have there.

My dream is that rather than transforming she vanishes into a puff of smoke and swaps with an Impa-inspired Sheik. Or just SS Impa. It definitely works within the context of both characters. But this is the point where a person starts to come up with hair-brained justifications for his personal favorites, so I'm definitely feeling she's in the "unlikely" pile.

I think the same mechanic can work. Just see it as Zelda teleporting out and Impa teleporting in and vice versa. But that would a neat twist to finally make them separate characters. Then maybe throw in a classic Ocarina/TP Zelda and Sheik as separate.

But yeah after (probably) dashing my hopes for Ridley I hope Sakurai brings me K. Rool instead. Only other antagonist that springs to mind that I'd go for is Porky, Medusa/Hades or a Mario RPG spin-off villain.

you dont lose shiek, zelda in bralw literally throws that worry out of the window, sakurai might replace shiek with impa, or he could jut make a SS version of shiek

Pac-Man 2: The New adventures for the SNES it has a point and click gimmick to it. It was pretty fun and humurous at the time, you get to piss off pacman. but I remember the difficulty being waaaay to high for young gamers. Pac-mans expressions were always great to look at.

Ridley and K Rool seem like the only plausible heavy weight newcomers. The inclusion of both of them seems to be in question to me but what other heavy weights could we get?

Snake being as heavy as he was surprised me but anyone else big and round? Samurai Goroh I suppose, but other than that no one. I guess Mewtwo will get the tall treatment like everyone updated to Brawl and his true weight will match. Unless of course he is always floating again then his true weight won't mean squat.

I'm fond of the idea of having different styles for each LoZ character. TP Link, SS Zelda, OoT Ganondorf, WW Toon Link.

I don't really mind what version of Zelda comes in, I'm sure they'd find a way to put Sheik in regardless of what they choose. I'd prefer SS Zelda as I like how she looks; she'd probably look really good in updated HD and perhaps a custom SS Sheik that'd be made just for SSB4 (sorta like Brawl.)

I have to agree the show makes Pac-Man's new design look awful. His voice is enough to kill a man.

His new design doesn't look that bad otherwise. I prefer his older one, though.
