In 2D? 100% I doubt they'll accept any compromises. Given how Namco is helping, and their last fighter was 60fps in 3D as well, I'd say the chances for stable 60 fps in 3D are pretty high.
And yeah, the game looks absolutely gorgeous for the 3DS. It's amazing how well they adapted the character models for the lower resolution, and the outlines really do wonder for the image clarity.

Possibly but how does the artstyle used on Kirby come into played then?
Not likely since we've seen battlefield at night and the characters never had that "galaxy" glow.

I really hope there's a Wind Waker stage on the Wii U version that gives everyone sort of a cel shaded look.
Not just you, I think this shot is great, love the colors and yes Toon Link looks fantastic. Huge leap from his brawl model.

Definitely one of my favorite screenshot so far. Toon Link's "innocent" face, Link hiding in the background... Sakurai really has the knack for taking great screenshot of the game!

I wonder if that's something they're working on behind the scenes; filters to apply to each level to make the characters blend in more naturally with the level itself.
I can see it being the sort of thing Sakurai would want to polish. And indeed, if there is indeed a Galaxy stage, they might be holding off on a full unveil until they've got that effect looking great on everyone. Let's be honest here: Kirby is a perfect reference character for that sort of development!
Is there a shot of Kirby in a similar pose from a different environment so we can directly compare the characters?
