I am your host, the fantastically scrubby Oichi, and with the help of iplaywinner.com's haunts and Raging Spaniard, we are happy to bring you a new thread to replace the official Street Fighter 4 thread, one of the most active threads on NeoGAF for the past year!

Super Street Fighter IV is an upgraded and souped-up version of the multi-million selling Street Fighter IV, released in 2009. Here is a rundown of what is new and improved in Super Street Fighter IV!

New Characters!

Ten new characters are rendered faithfully in 3D, with some coming from previous Street Fighter games, and others who are totally new! Did we mention that every character will be selectable from the start? No more having to play through Arcade Mode just to unlock characters!

New Ultras n' More!

Every character in the game now come equipped with two selectable Ultra combos, making it even more important to know your matchups. Some Ultra combos are great against projectile characters, while others are better suited against grapplers. Knowing your character and their strengths is more important than ever! In addition, all returning characters have been tweaked and balanced to make sure that everyone has a fighting chance! Vega players, your time has finally come! Guile players... sorry! Haha.

New Bonus Stages!

Bringing back one of the most nostalgic parts of Street Fighter are the bonus stages. There are two bonus stages, Barrel Buster and Car Smasher, which appear during Arcade Mode. In Car Smasher, players must destroy a car in the allotted time, while Barrel Buster tests the player's ability to smash as many barrels as possible.

New Online Modes!

Improving on the 1 on 1 rooms of Street Fighter IV, Super IV introduces a wealth of online options, including Endless Battle (aka Quarter Matches), Team Battle and more! While Ranked Matches are still 1 on 1, every other mode can handle up to 8 players in a lobby at the same time! Also new to the game is the ability to save replays and then broadcast them via the Replay Channel!

Timing for combos are usually trial and error. In training mode, if the dummy blocks your combo (make sure its set on auto block), you did it too slow. If the move doesn't even come out, you did it too fast. Adjust your timing and keep working on it until muscle memory develops.

Yup, this. You can check out shoryuken.com if you want to wade through loads of outdated info. There is some good stuff hidden in the rough, though.

I'm going to start playing online after I finish Ibuki's last trial. I don't get how I was able to SJC in SFxT but not this. -_-

I am terrible at this game, I've been watching some youtube videos but they are moderately not helping at all. (lol) and i want to not be terrible. however, i have to deal with the 360s shitty dpad so help me...

(im not buying an arcade stick or another copy of the game or dling of off ps+ because i have no room for that either.)

your yun is ok. I still don't know why you aren't confirming shoulder into geneijin. The good thing is that your corner pressure is fine. But mid to far range is really easy to read and punish.

I forget sometimes. As for the mid range game, besides neutral jumping, dive kicks, and throwing out st.mp, I have no idea how to get in with Yun, especially against Ibuki where you can neckbreak or slide kick me at any time. Sort of the reason why I want to drop him. I just don't know how to level him up.

I don't watch character specific vids for AE. I should probably do that....

That and I haven't touched training mode in AE for months. Last time I did for Yun was maybe in March or so? And even then it wasn't that long. Last time I really grinded him in the lab was maybe 6 months ago. For Makoto I haven't touched her in training mode for almost a year. It's why I can't do shit with her, since I started playing fighting games a little more than a year ago lol.

It's weird how I probably average about a 70% win ratio when I play randoms in ranked, but whenever I play someone from this thread I get absolutely bodied. As strange as it sounds, I feel a little more pressure when I play someone from here because I kind of know who they are and vice versa.

And damn I was having the hardest time with your Yun! I almost never play Yuns online, so I had no clue what to do against that onslaught of offensive pressure. :)

Definitely the reverse for me. It feels like I can play laid back and try stuff I wouldn't usually do in ranked matches. But I still get bodied here :[

Yeah. Like I said, I can't even remember the last time I came across a Yun player online, so I didn't even know where his target combos ended. So I kept pressing a button to punish, but they were still going. I swear all of Yun's normals are 3 frames. Shit's ridiculous.

I played on the 360 analog for about 2 years. It wasn't that bad.

Could you elaborate on what's making you think you're terrible at this game? The most common mistakes I see with beginners are: offense/getting closer starts with a jumping attack, not antiairing the opponent and never using your character's normals (and if they do, it's always the hard normals).

First game I can say that I got to a point where I can go toe to toe with the worlds best was sfxt and that was my first time using Sagat, fell in love, so i'm trying to learn Sagat in this game now. Dropping Vega/Dudley (my AE mains) and starting anew.

If anyone uses Mr. Gat and wouldn't mind giving me some pointers, that would be cool.
