Switch 2 Accessories Appear on AliBaba

No way there'll be any Switch 2 news at TGA, imo.

I have zero doubt we'll get an announcement of a date for the reveal by Nintendo before the reveal happens. And it'll be an event hosted by Nintendo themselves without wasting a ton of ad money at the TGA.

I can't even recall Nintendo ever announcing any new product at that show. It's always "just" updates on already announced projects, if anything at all. I'd wager the best we can hope for is Metroid Prime 4 or Xenoblade Chronicles X.

They have announced Bayonetta 3, Bayonetta Origins, Bravely Default II and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 at the TGAs.

If it's going to be the exact same thing, just make a box version of it so that we don't buy handhelds that never get any use as handhelds.
I wanted them to do this with the Switch.

I used my Switch and continue to use my girls switch like 90% docked or higher.

I'm not much of a handheld guy anymore. The last time I really put some time into a handheld was the Vita. Hell I've probably put more time into the Vita in the last year then the Switch.

Yeah, I know. I should've said something from their own IP/internal studios maybe. Not just published.

I would put the chance at 0% of them dropping the first ever reveal trailer of the next mainline Nintendo EAD/EPD developed Mario Kart at TGA, for example. Let alone a next gen console announcement.

I'd agree with that, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have a Prime 4 trailer plus Prime 2/3 remaster announcement.

mhh, yeah, it just looks like a bigger Switch.
the mystery button on the right joycon is still weird to me tho. I really wonder what the hell that could be.
we see that we already have a home and a share button at the same spots as on the Switch 1 Joycons, so what could that button be?
it has to be some brand new function that the Switch 1 does not have.

I think that button almost confirms some new gimmick it's gonna have. but what kind of gimmick could be tied to an additional button?
wireless HDMI maybe? you press the button and the system sends a wireless HDMI signal to the dock and functions like a Wii U gamepad?
Wireless HDMI is still pretty expensive I think. about 80 bucks for a set of senders/receivers, so maybe an improved version of their Wii U tech, upgraded to support like 1080p or 1440p or something?

it would be hilarious of course if, in the end, it turns out that button does something extremely mundane like turn the screen off or some nonsense... or switch between 2 coupled Joycon mode into separate single joycon mode... something completely boring :messenger_grinning_sweat:
Or a screen shot button for split joycon mode... That would be pretty boring!

well, if we look at these new screenshots in the post above, there's a C on that button it seems. so that rules out the screenshot button thankfully 🤣 a second share button just so both players can make screenshots would have been a hilarious addition tho.

so now the question is, what does that C stand for 🤔🤔🤔

Convert: Switch 1 games run under higher docked mode settings in handheld mode!

Conversation: dedicated button for friends list, invites!

It's very out of the way must be something to do with the OS or system level features.

Watch it be a button to push out an SD card or something.

🤔🤔 that would be a really good feature, but I doubt they would mark it with a C... a D would make more sense here or maybe a symbol like a lightning bolt ⚡ ,
or a boost arrow symbol like ➠ or ⏫

would be a waste of a button tbh, but given how ass backwards the Switch 1 was in that regard, it could be that they'd do that just to emphasis how they now focus on adding such features... so maybe 🧐

not necessarily, maybe it has something to do with the IR camera, holding the joycon upside down, so that the IR camera points forward, would also mean the C button suddenly is easier to reach. C for Camera 🤔

but that would raise the question why you'd ever want a dedicated button for a feature that was previously pretty much ignored by 99% of developers

yeah... 🫠

They seem desperate to stick to a schedule allowing for extra launch hardware surplus and dev time for update patches and launch window software.

My fear is they are going to risk losing hype and interest if they continue dragging out the announcement.

Everyone thought Nintendo had waited so long to release an interesting system by the Switch 1 prediction thread, it was hopeless by then!

It's the cast button, switch can broadcast gameplay directly to the dock for play on TV but in lesser resolution than when docked.
