SWITCH 2 DS INSTEAD OF A SWITCH 2 LITE?

Instead of making a switch 2 Lite, which would still barely be portable, they should make a dual screen switch 2 with DS NSO as a selling point, updated older titles with new bottom-screen UI's, and encourage devs to make use of the bottom screen for newer games

The vast majority of games on the 3DS/DS made excellent use of the bottom screen, it made navigating UI's way more efficient and made the overall gameplay look cleaner, as you didn't have a HUD making the game look borderline 4:3

the DS was a legitimately brilliant concept that I wish Nintendo continued with

Won't happen, but I would like a Switch 2 clamshell which I can put in my bag without being worried about scratches.

I think it will goes to niche rather than for mass
If They want, they could use gyro to rotate, and put controller on it. works for arcade games though.

Might be a better idea to release a DSi mini with preloaded DS classics like Nintendogs, Brain Training, NSMB, Mario Kart DS, the two Zelda games, etc.

Even with just the Nintendo catalog it would sell, then you add a couple 3P games like the Layton series and it's gravy.

I'd rather have one good screen that 2 shitty ones.

(yes I preferred the PSP at the time)

vita led was the ideal handheld, a real gaming machine you could put into your pocket. and the size of the screen enough for 1080p led. if you want a bigger screen add an hdmi output to connect to a tv and you have perfection. well sony could have done that

the problem were the lack of great games cause sony never understood it needed its own aa games (like tearaway), not donwported ps4 aaa games that fared poorly compared to the big console

No, that idea has to stay buried

You have Zelda BOTW and TOTK app on phone anyway for extra stuffs, why not use phone apps more often if your game idea was even needing dual screen.

Or just buy a Retroid Pocket 5 with the screen addon and emulate everything up to the Switch.

Dual screens was the dumbest shit ever.

Everyone just shoving a map or quick access buttons on the bottom screen and calling it a day.

They would be cutting off original Switch 2 owners. Hey kids, some games you cannot play unless you buy new hardware. Not a good idea. Plus it's never a good idea if it was not part of the original design. Developers would ignore it, Nintendo will make 1-2 game that take advantage of it.

Hey Nintendo remember when you had the genius idea of combining your handheld and console into a single device saving your company from bankruptcy?
I have a new idea - do the opposite of that.

Neither. Switch 2 TV. Make a Switch 2 Pro that's exclusive to dock play. Handheld constraints would hold back the ability to cheaply produce a more powerful box.

Right, and split the library of games they make again ? Genius move.
Devs can't handle that level of library capacity anymore and publishers don't want to pay for it anymore.

What you will simply get is a Wii U situation where they simply put menus and maps on the second screen.

This will never happen because Nintendo makes cheap hardware, but it would be cool to see a smaller Nintendo Switch with the dual screens like Samsung Galaxy Z Flip with the foldable screen that bends into a clamshell, and then just stick controllers on the side in some way.

I'd love to see them bring back the DS & 3DS libraries in some way on a newer portable at higher resolution.

I'd be interested in a clamshell, but the buttons and sticks would be even worse than the switch. A foldable screen would increase cost too.
