Switch 2 proves consumers are fine with paying up

Just blocking you at this point. Retard.

I understand why the mods temp banned you, but I also understand your frustration. That guy has a screw loose if he thinks base game price of $80 is the same as base game price of $60 plus a $25 DLC. Looking forward to having you back! Don't lose that sassiness during your vacation.

You've got a large number of people that routinely are OK with paying over $1000 for a new iPhone every year. A one time $500 console purchase once every 8 years isn't anything. I do think game sales are going to go down though. $80 is just too much for a game. People will be way more selective and only the big titles are going to sell.

There is absolutely zero way I'm paying $80 for a Mario or Donkey Kong game. A Zelda game where I could get 60+ hours out of it? Maybe.

Yeah $500 is nothing. Look at the 5090 rtx for $2k that is sold out.

$80 games aren't much either. People spent that much on Nintendo's big games as it was. BotW, MK8, AC, Smash, ...a lot of people spent over $80 on those games.

And most games aren't going to be $80. They will be $70. It is the tent pole 1st party games that will be $80. The DK game coming in July is only $70 for example.

And then there's just the fact of life that prices are higher on all sorts of stuff now. These price increases are not indiscriminate.
