Switch 2 version Final Fantasy 7 remake intergrade (off screen recording)

Right, 40fps. Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2 also runs at a "40fps" performance mode. Also, once PS5 updated to VRR it began offering a 40fps mode for many of its 1st party titles.
40fps is 120Hz mode not VRR.
Edit: One of the first games to get it was Rift Apart, 1 year before the VRR update:

DF call this port the best looking thing on Switch 2 right now.

and this is 99% art direction btw. this game isn't a technical masterpiece or anything. it's what happens when a dev team puts effort into leveraging true and tested technology as optimally as possible, so that a game doesn't look like it's held back by the hardware it's running at.

Also, the DF clip says it's running at 30FPS.

So, unless they had different displays running the game at differnt options, looks like that 40fps thing from last page might not be accurate.

it's clearly running at 30fps. every off-screen video shows it's 30fps.

the info source for that 40fps thing is some dude working at the booth.
and those people have zero clue what they're talking about. at the Nintendo preview events there were people working at those booths claiming Mario Kart is 120fps, which is obviously not as it turned out.

I'm surprised John doesn't recall the differences for Intergrade, switch 2 is clearly on the intergrade upgrade

DF was finding that its a "real demo" moment for PS5

DF : "While new light sources now cast coloured light against passing NPCs. PS5 finds itself a real demo moment here"

For Switch 2 it will be what then

I'll take a SE Reps word over DF and their "judge by youtube compression" skills

I still have Rebirth unfinished installed on my PS5. The game was just so underwhelming.

I wonder if the door is fixed on the Switch 2 port.

Eh no. Rebirth isn't as good as the first one. So many boring things with rebirth starting from the open area to the soldiers parade to the park and the hunted hotel. All of this shit was boring. Remake didn't have that touch fluff in it.
They said they heard the complaints about Rebirth. Anyway, Disc 3 was never minigame heavy as much as it was boss fight and fights heavy in general.
I hope we get to see a "new weapon" or at least a new super boss for the final act. Act3 is the best. I'm still going through Rebirth and I like it alot, but you're right about the mini games. I got high scores and got a lot of good shit, but I was like"When do I get to fight?"
It's like they forgot that The Fights were half the reason I loved this game. We got to see modern versions of the spells we grew up with, good music... I also want to state I hate some of the music in Rebirth...it's straight awful, while other times it lands stiff with a 10/10.

I think I'll fire it up in awhile. been taking a break from it.
Oh, look, less than a Month for Silent Hill f... 👀

Whelp.

Looks like SE have officially confirmed it's 30fps afterall.

The 40fps was bogus.

Now I'm curious to see it running on the console because it looks really fluid like somewhat above 30 but not 60, yet I won't buy it because I have on PC will never replay that game again unless they remove all the unnecessary walking

calling it Integrade is indeed more logical, as calling it the "PS5 version" doesn't make any sense... because it's not the PS5 version lol.

Square gave away the PS5 upgrade, so people who owned the PS4 version got to upgrade for free. But that didn't include the Yuffie DLC. Integrade is the bundle with both.

and the visual changes in integrade were mostly cosmetic and not much of a technical change.

They upgraded the Unreal Engine used.

sure, the upgrade was mostly performance related. the visual differences between the PS4 and PS5 version mostly stem from an increased resolution and some tweaks to how certain scenes are lit.

got a source for that???
what did they do? Go from UE 4.17 to UE 4.18? we know even the sequel isn't using anything past 4.19, because their version of UE4 doesn't have support for TAAU yet, which was introduced in 2018 in 4.19.
so whatever version of UE4 they use, it has to be older than 4.19 from 2018 in any of their versions, and in the second game.

they have modified the engine, but I am pretty sure there's no real info on what they did to it for any of the games

Texture resolution was upgraded, Assets got rebuilt. That's how they "fixed" Cloud's apartment without actually fixing the underlying bug.

The whole point of doing this was to prepare the workflow for Rebirth.

This says they went from 4.18 to 4.25.

no they didn't say that. they said they integrated a feature from 4.25 into their modified version of 4.18. and that feature is loading speed related.

again, they aren't using anything past 4.18 because if they did they had access to TAAU, which they clearly don't have given how Rebirth's 60fps mode looks

Dude don't jump so fast on conclusions, the 40fps were from some people playing in handheld mode, so we might have a Cyberpunk situation were it runs at 40 on handheld mode and favours 30fps mode on TV mode

kevboard kevboard counted the frames, said it's 30fps.
DF played the handheld mode, said it's 30fps.
Final Fantasy Twitter account says it's 30fps.

the official FF7 account is damage controlling and mentioned it running at 30fps in their recent tweet, precisely to stop these 40fps rumors.

Uhh, you absolutly can use TAAU in Rebirth on PC.

that's weird if true. because it brings into question why they didn't use TAAU in Rebirth on PS5.
TAAU would have fixed the image quality issues the game has in the 60fps mode.

the reason PSSR gives such an insane image quality upgrade in that game on the Pro is because they used a super old TAA solution of pre 4.19 UE4 versions.
TAAU is pretty light in terms of performance as well, so that can't be the reason.

edit: you added a video I see... man that is fucking bizarre... why the fuck did they use that shitty old UE 4.18 TAA on PS5? 🤨

all the pre-release criticisms would have been gone had they just used TAAU.

I am more confused now than before ngl.

but I guess I shouldn't be, it's sadly so common that devs just use completely nonsensical settings for their console versions sometimes.
I think the Rebirth team realised they had to heavily modify UE4 to get the open world to work at any resonable frame rate, and several features and settings got left on the floor before release in the rush to get the game completed.

So, unless they had different displays running the game at differnt options, looks like that 40fps thing from last page might not be accurate.

Square have officially tweeted that it's 30fps on NS2 since that post.
