Ever since Donkey Kong Country on the SNES back in 1994 Nintendo have used gorgeous CGI rendered visuals on their box arts.

However, despite graphics having come a long way since the N64 days, Switch graphics still aren’t quite there.

With Switch 2’s rumoured specs, featuring resolutions up to 1440p and ray tracing, could we finally be about to get there?

Could the next Animal Crossing, for example, look this good?

How about Mario Kart 9 looking this good?

Definitely. For Nintendo-style cartoony graphics the new hardware is sufficient.

That’s the thing when people turn their noses up as Switch 2’s rumoured specs being between PS4 and PS4 Pro.

Nintendo’s art style doesn’t require realistic hair physics and facial “peach fuzz”, nor does it aim to be as realistic as more recent Pixar movies like Toy Story 4.

Not this gen. However, whatever Monolith will be able to do with this new hardware is going to be amazing. I just hope that the console is STACKED with RAM for them to be able to play with.
