Synaesthesia

Looking at the threads on Every Extend extra has inspired me to make a thread abour it. What other synaesthesia are there? I know of Lumines, Meteos, Rez...thats about it.
 
Lumines and Rez I can understand, but synaesthesia from Meteos seems kind of odd. Just not enough moving colors in Meteos to cause it.
 
Most of Minter's stuff (tempest esp), though I don't know if he was aiming for that particular experience seeing as how he's usually under the influence most the time :lol

and some of kenta cho's work can be considered Synaesthesia as well...

Especially Torus Trooper, moving at a fast speed with all these colors and particles being thrown around, it's almost seizure inducing.

Something like January 2006 for Japan release I think.

Sonarrat: synaesthesia is the fusion of two senses. I.e., visualizing something you can hear, tasting something you see, etc.

I'd say that his lightshow programs were aiming for synaesthesia more than his updates to Tempest were.
 
I doubt vib-ribbon counts on a technicality. SnowWolf's definition of synaesthesia states an example being "visualizing something you can hear", and vib-ribbon doesn't actually produce particular shapes based on particular notes or anything, as far as I've been able to tell. At the very least I haven't noticed any consistency between shapes and sounds (i.e., squares for bass, spikes for high frequency). If it visualised the shapes based on frequencies, or something you can hear, then it probably would fit. Even then it'd be a pretty boring candidate, when compared to the colour orgies of other games already mentioned.

edit: Unity was cancelled, and from what I remember reading on YakYak.org forums all the code handed over to Molyneux's camp. What little I've seen of Minter's Neon for Xbox360 thing it basically looks like Unity with customisable soundtracks.

It got canned. :(

I've heard that Kandinsky painting's were synaesthetic, and this was a source of inspiration for Mizuguchi within his games.
