In December, Taco Bell told their franchisees that the Mexican Pizza would be coming back in summer 2022. This evening I receive this message on the app:

I know it’s not the best Mexican food by any stretch of the imagination, but fuck it I love Taco Bell. The staff at my local one are always super nice, guess it’s just a good location as the Burger King right by it always have chill people working there as well.

Mexican Pizza was pretty good, and I‘ll definitely grab one for nostalgia sake, but nowadays I like my Burrito Supreme and Crunchwrap Supreme.

Yes, I am very familiar with shwarma... but its not easy to find in the US outside of large cities. I'd eat it for every other meal if I could.

I live in rural Ohio. There’s a good nacho place about 20 minutes from here, but the “Mexican Pizza” on the menu is a tostada with topping on it. It’s pretty overpriced and bland.

When they got rid of the Meximelt (and Spicy Tostada for that matter), I poured over their menu trying to recreate them using current items and subbing some things in. For the Meximelt, I order a Cheese Rollup and added beef and pico. It tastes exactly the same.

All the "classic" fast food chains are like this now. I can literally spend the same at a sit down restaurant with tip as I would at Taco Bell or McDonald's for significantly better food.

Anything fast casual is cheaper took. I can eat at Chipotle for half as much as most fast food places. It's not worth getting fast food and it hasn't been for a few years.

I used to LOVE these and the cheesy gordita crunch but since I changed my diet and became healthier this image makes my stomach turn. Crazy change

What frustrates me is that all of my Taco Bell locations sell the $5 box at $5.79. There are other boxes, but they run between $8 and $10. At that price, plus a $2 tip, I can have the ultimate nachos, a coke, and unlimited chips and salsa at my local Mexican restaurant. I normally order off of the value menu and get the $10 Taco Pass.

I don’t mind taco bell, but the prices for the amount of food I get just isn’t worth it. I’d rather make burritos at home and have enough to eat for 3 days
