I think it depends on the person. Some people can just log out and forget all about the site, whilst some struggle to do that. I think a perm request adds an extra barrier to stop you from logging in. A password reset is easy to change, I would think.

I can relate to the guy because I deleted my previous account in December, but the only difference was it only was about a week old. I would not do that this time around, I prefer to just log out until I feel better. I think you to tend to end up regretting a ban/deletion in the future when you have more free time and feel better.
