Talos Principle 2 releasing on November 2

Yay! I need a big meaty puzzle game.
You see that Playstation logo in the thumbnail? No PC or Xbox version getting promoted on Neogaf.

I suppose I should try the first one again.

After keeping it on my wishlist for ages, I bought it on a sale maybe 2 years ago, and... found it tedious. It was an enormous disappointment, the heavy handed writing and supposed themes in particular, and also the puzzles in the first 3-ish hours. Never had the slightest motivation to return to it.

First game is amazing. If you haven't played it, drop whatever you are playing and play Talos Principle instead.

I may be more excited for this than Spider-Man 2. First was ingenious.

🥳🥳🥳

It's rare I ever get hyped for games. The original is one of the best games I've ever played. The puzzles were satisfying and the story is one of the most mature and thought provoking stories I've ever seen in a game. It's a one of a kind experience that borrows some elements from other games, but there's really nothing else like it.

It's an absolute crime this game doesn't have more attention around it. I am dying to play this.

I wonder what RRP will be on PS5, I think I'd rather get it there if they're still using SE4, Serious Sam 4 was fucked up on PC.

The first is $3 on PSN for one more day for those who've never played ot and want to check it out. My favorite puzzle game ever. Can't wait for this.

Some of the extra stars in the first one were impossibly well hidden and hardly possible to found without a guide, but the actual puzzles were built well, continuosly upping the complexity and being rather too big at the end, me running around "forever" just to realise this ain't it, going back and forth again and again was a bit too tedious. Puzzle games kinda never really work super great in that view for that reason, not being in some regular god mode and levels being seen and manipulated as a whole, exception are the Portals.

Played the demo for a few minutes and it's pretty good.

A few technical things. It uses UE5.2 and it does a quick shader compilation at start.
But in-game there are a few stutters, when moving from one area to the next. Probably from asset streaming and not from shader compilation. Asides from that, it's smooth to play.
It has support in game menu, for TSR, TAAU, DLSS3, FSR2 and XeSS 1.2.
Everything maxed out, with TSR Quality, I'm getting around 100 fps.
I also noticed that inside buildings, there is light bleed from outside.
GI is probably not being culled properly.

UUU console, does not work with this demo. But the Engine.ini and Gameusersettings.ini can be edited.
