Team Kojima's hardcoreness goes up another level; EGM Interview

Transcript here:

EGM: Fans were a bit surprised by Snake's new mustache...
Hideo Kojima: Of course, the team researched many different beards and mustaches, and we eventually decided on this Lee Van Cleef-inspired look.

A Lee Van Cleef mustache is great... but Snake doesn't have a Lee Van Cleef face, so it's kinda lost on that. @_@

Hopefully they allow Raiden to succeed and we get to play as him !"

and as Raiden , as you have no face hair, you get to shave your balls!

Click on water icon - balls are now wet
Sharpen razor - razor is now sharpened
Apply foam - foam applied
Shave balls - balls shaved
Apply skin balm - your balls are now supple
Apply after shave - your balls are on fire. You can now run faster, but the smell of burning nut sack and your wincing will alert the enemy to your location.

<Guard #1> Can you smell that???
<Guard #2> Someone has been putting Old spice on their nuts!
<Guard #1> Well... Ocelot is on our side... so that can only mean...
<Guard #1 + #2> .... RAIDEN!!! *sounds alarm*

That concept was a bit used in the vaguely gta-ish action game MERCENARIES

Yeah, and even GTA2's respect meter was kind of like that. Iirc.gamecubecafe. But I trust he won't make it feel cheap. It's gotta be immersive and intense if you'r going to try that.

Y'know, I had this witty and insightful post all thought up in my head and then I read "Click on water icon - balls are now wet" and now I can't remember a damn thing.

Shaving? Are you kidding me? How can anyone in their right mind think that this would be fun in any way? Gee, let's take my least favorite part of my day and make me do it over and over in a videogame. If it's anything like all the other "innovations" in the past couple Metal Gear games it will just amount to a bunch of menus anyway.

Considering that the Sims has managed to make almost every trivial aspect of our day to day lives an engaging video game experience, I'll be more than happy to see Kojima prove you wrong.

if they would implement the face buttons analog sensitivity i could see it working nicely... press too hard and you cut your throat etc.

You think fixing a shower in The Sims is an engaging videogame experience? If that's the case I'm guessing you liked the whole eating/healing thing in MGS3 as well. Diff'rent Strokes to move the world, I suppose.

sorry for this bump, but has anyone gotten in their electronic copy of EGM yet? I was wondering if my my subscription has lapsed and they didn't tell me.
