I heard they were starting in january but having the first, middle and last episode to be 2 hours and no long breaks between episodes like done in the past

How is this season being done? 2hour shows? 12 episodes?

The first episode airs Sunday, January 9th. It'll be 2 hours. Then a new episode airs Monday at 9PM, which is the show's new time slot. After that it'll play uninterrupted for its entire run, but supposedly some of the episodes will be a couple hours long. Those will air during sweeps, maybe as a season finale, stuff like that.

Hehe that is how i watched the first 3 seasons. I never seen an episode prior to the season finale. I watched season 1 and 2 dvd and some xvid of season 3 all in a row before watching the last one live.

Then you are coming in at a good time. Watching Season 2 and 3 live on TV was painful because of the long waits between some episodes. With this new setup it'll still suck to have to wait that week, but at least it won't be like a month and a half like last season.

Season 3 DVD is coming in December, it was originally supposed to be released in September but they pushed it back. I guess they did that so they can tie it with Season 4's release. I would love to re-watch season 3 again.

I know Season 3 is out in UK, but I don't want region 3 or whatever the fuck they are.

And all of the footage shown was new!! JANUARY CANT COME ANY FASTER!!

I know it is too late, but they missed golden opportunity for the DVDs. They should of shot what happens during the commercials. The dvds could of been 60 full minutes uninterrupted. That would of been so bad ass.

Yeah, but that's the time when the characters are usually going for a smoke, or taking a piss.

Piss? Jack Bauer(sp) does not need to piss. Even if the characters had to piss, they could still cut to another charcter in those 14 min commcercial breaks.
