Exactly, I get palpably and visibly annoyed at how much Twitter has insinuated itself into our society in a pathetically short amount of time. It's to the point where news reports mentioned that the news broke on Twitter. And I give a fuck, why? The next time I hear someone say "tweet" I'm going to literally punch their fucking lights out.

It's a walking advertisement. Just the thought that thousands of people are posting meaningless bullshit about themselves all day long (just took a crap!) is insanely obnoxious. But then putting it up in my face by making it a part of Google? This fad can't die soon enough.

is "toot" any better?

no, it's not

Gotta say that I used Twitter for a few days, but it didn't really do anything for me. I thought I'd be interested in updates from other people, but honestly, I don't fucking care. And what I write isn't interesting for anyone, I knew that going in though.

If you're famous / a company, it kinda makes sense to use the service to push your products to your fans or whatever, and to make them feel recognized in some weird kind of way. But real-life use that goes beyond jerking off into the internet is not what I'd expect from Twitter.

I guess some kids use it like an SMService. Yay.

All in all, I wouldn't expect Twitter to live too long unless some big company bought them and integrated their service into something they're doing, which is apparently happening here. It all makes sense now.

That was probably why those guys made twitter in the first place. So they could get bought out by Google.

Yay more people pounding

mediacenterpwnage.net has blocked 82,447 ads since 03-04-09 15:47:05.

www.google-analytics.com 8229 9.98%

I like google, but they are way overused for advertising and tend to makes websites crawl during peak hours.....

It really is remarkable how people can get so angry over things they never use.:lol
To be fair, it is pretty damn annoying to have to hear the mainstream media talk about Twitter and reference it constantly ever since they learned of its existence a couple months ago.

Wtf? Some guy from Twitter was just on Colbert yesterday talking about how they wouldn't give in to buyouts and how they would remain as they are. At least I think, I wasn't really paying attention...

Twitter is made by the same 2 guys who sold Blogger to Google.

ya I'm sick and fucking tired of ESPN mentioning

TechCrunch sucks. I've grown to hate everything about them. The quality of the written word is absolutely awful. It's never entertaining or inspired. The newsworthiness of most stories is questionable. The fascination with venture capitalism status on start ups is quizzical--who gives a shit.

Every time I see someone raving about TechCrunch I just don't get it.

Oh, and I'm with Gruber, it's a joke that Arrington edited this post several times and ended up basically calling it off in the suffix. Hilarious.
