It's edited so well to maximize the uncomfortableness lol

I'm sure you could do this with most everything that is filmed in this fashion though.

Still pretty funny.

oh. my. gods.

I know a former campaign worker or two who would shit themselves had this happened to their candidate. shit themselves standing up. instantly.

CNN said:
"That's too personal, Ted," Cruz's mother, Eleanor Darragh, says in one video interview during an interview about the family's history. It was unclear from the video what Cruz had asked her to share. "I don't want to tell that."

"Well I want to tell that, and you're the best person to tell that," Cruz, off-screen, replies.

"There are some very personal details that I don't want to go into," Darragh says.

"You don't have to go into it," Cruz says.

When his mother begins talking, Cruz interrupts. "Look at me," he directs. "I know it's hard, Mom."

"I'm not used to this at all," she says.

This is more awkward than Scott's Tots.

Just think about working for Carson when he doubled down on attacking his mom with a hammer after the media gave him an out or when Jeb tried to put on that sweater.

This was done on purpose though. Since the campaigns themselves can't officially collaborate with their SuperPACs, they release all of their footage online to let the SuperPACs take 'public material' and use it as they please.

The reason this is out there is just great:

Thanks to the (few) rules governing campaign Super PACs, candidates aren’t technically allowed to coordinate with them. Which means candidates can’t technically feed them hours and hours of raw video footage for future campaign ads. Candidates can however, casually leave them on a neglected YouTube account for Super PACs to find. And thank god they can, because Ted Cruz did.

Please don't encourage similarities between Steve Carrell in that movie and Ted Cruz. It'll just make me feel more sympathetic to Ted Cruz. It's hard enough as it is because I feel bad for these folks and the fact that they will be meme'd.

*really weird stream of consciousness to follow, please forgive me if this sounds weird*

Like, back in the day, I thought Howard Dean was a mad man and an asshole. I couldn't stand the guy. But then I saw an interview and it had some awkward moments like this, and it reminded me that he's just a fucking guy and that I shouldn't think of him as an asshole and now I feel bad for being so down on the guy.

I have that feeling running through me right now. Like, these people are probably good people who have foibles like any other member of my family. I mean, yeah, they support Ted Cruz and he isn't a person I would want as president, but I don't believe they deserve the Internetting they are going to get.

Hell, when I see Ted Cruz like this, it makes me not hate him as much, which is probably a good thing for my eternal soul and my ability to empathize with people. I don't want it to cloud my judgment in voting...which it won't, Cruz will still never get my vote. But I always feel weird when I get that sensation watching political stuff. I can't predict when it will happen or even what political stripe it will happen. But it makes me feel bad for hating someone. Again, good thing, but it's a weird sensation...

Anyway, yeah, rant over. I don't know why I have this emotional reaction to things like this, but I strangely do...

I'm going to use this whenever I find a long, rambling, nonsensical post.
I think I just gave you the perfect opportunity to try this out :lol

I mean, that's true for a lot of people for me, even one's I disagree with. McCain, Romney, current candidates like Kasich or even Walker or Jeb!

But Cruz...Cruz is legitimately one of the most vile people I've ever encountered. I really can't feel bad for this guy. I believe in empathy, but empathy only goes so far
