Retailers in Japan report that Tekken 5 will include, as a bonus, a complete port of the original arcade Tekken. This is on top of extra content that includes an action-based mode of play.

While the PS2 version of Tekken 5 will come with an exclusive IC Tekken.net card for the arcade, having the original Tekken is a welcome bonus because I have never played Tekken 1.

Tekken 5, along with this awesome bonus, is set for Japanese release on 3/31.

Import get!

3/31, huh? Let's see what happens to that 2/22 U.S. release date that EB and Gamestop are using. :)

Tekken 1 being included is a cool, but useless extra. The game play is incredibly dated.

I was just playing Tekken 1 arcade the other day. It's so funny to play now.

I wonder if this will actually be a port of the arcade or just the PSX version, which was NOT arcade perfect. The arcade version looked different, had some different outfits, the bosses were not playable at all and there were some little details like the character's face moving when you selected them.

The 2/22 date is already starting to get changed at stores.

Blah, I can’t imagine a 3D fighting game aging well at all.

They should just have included teken bowl and make some other mini games etc..

All I can say is Devil Kazuya = Namek Vegita

I keep the original case apart fro my collection because the case is so damned huge, it's embarrasing. :(

Ahh the good old days. Wasn't Devil a robot created by heihachi back then?

My memory must be failing me because I remember Heichi being a Kazuya clone to a T.
With slightly better uppercuts.

Like all of the other clones, he had moves from a couple of other characters. Wasn't he in particular a mix of Paul and Kazuya? I think he had some Nina thrown in there too

I want ports of System 11 Tekken, Tekken 2 and System 12 Tekken 3.

Tekken 1 and 2 would be very very slightly better than the PS1 versions (texture resolution, hit spark resolution, characters faces rotate at select screen in Tekken 1) and Tekken 3 would be significantly improved over the PS1 version since some sacrifices had to be made to fit Tekken 3 on PS1.

Why? Refering to Tekken 1 I'd have to agree, but in general? Soul Calibur 1 is still a very tight game whose graphics hold up pretty well, on DC at least.

Devil was never a robot. He has no story at all in Tekken 1.

Heihachi has Jack's death scream, but is not a clone of his in any way. He is a mix of Paul and Kazuya with some of his own moves, like his own throws and demon uppercut.

Something about Tekken's story that I don't get is why Jin and Kazuya are even fighting one another? Did Jin even know Kazuya before Tekken 4? Because Kazuya was kinda, presumed dead I thought. He never wronged Jin in anyway, but for some reason their endings make it seem like they despise one another. :/

No, Jin hadn't met Kazuya before Tekken 4. Although Kazuya was revived just days after Tekken 2 nobody knew he was alive until Tekken 4. Jin knew of him though. When Jun felt that Ogre was coming to get her she told Jin about how Kazuya was evil and the source of his devil curse. Jin wants to end the Mishima bloodline, so naturally Kazuya is a target.

Kazuya wants complete control of his Devil powers and Jin has half of it. He doesn't really hate Jin for anything Jin has done to him, he just wants his power for himself. He's ruthless like that.
