finished it in 50mins. well that was that...
Yeah, that's about the time it takes finishing Terminator on SEGA-CD. And I have been replaying the game every year because it's awesome.

I can complete a run of Night Striker in maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Played it hundreds of times.

I am a big Terminator fan and if I hadn't bought it already I probably would rethink it.

Its really short and really easy. It does cover the movie but far shorter than the movie itself. Its a typical 10 bucks game. The only thing left for me is the execute option with Sarah, and finish the boss rush (which is kind of cool). But replaying it means also replaying placing bombs, escaping the hospital, doing the quite limited but very cool OST laden belt action bar brawl. And the branch out stages aren't that special so far (there is more T800 gameplay though).

The game feels a lot like those movie licensed Super Nintendo/Genesis games, with the same length to match but far easier. It reminds me of Jurassic Park: Rampage.

This actually kinda sells me, but the price tag is an extreme turnoff because I've heard the length is so absurd.

But Jurassic Park Rampage man...what a weird fucking game to a T. It just made no fucking sense :messenger_tears_of_joy: You just mowed down dudes with seemingly infinite ammo for 20 minutes and then you were done. Amazing really.

I like the way it expands the lore. Like Sarah planted that bomb in the factory and got sent to the funny farm because they apparently overlooked the DOZENS OF MEN SHE GUNNED DOWN IN COLD BLOOD!!!!! :P

And endoskeleton dogs, that's a cool spin.

Fun for 1-2 hours. Buy it when it hits €5. It's too short and the gameplay is repetitive and shallow. Easy mode was a mistake. A cheat menu that doesn't disable achievements is also bad. (n)

Terminator 2D: No Fate reviewed by Luke Reilly on PC. Also available on PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Xbox Series X|S, and Switch.

"Terminator 2D: No Fate is totally committed to being an unflinching homage to the 16-bit era. This brings with it an extremely brief runtime – and I'm unconvinced the supplementary modes developer Bitmap Bureau has injected are going to be enough to have me guarantee I'll be back – but it can't be understated just how much it succeeds as a wonderfully realised tribute to one of the single greatest movies ever made. It arguably under-utilises its supreme asset in the titular Terminator itself, but it's otherwise a consistently entertaining and rewarding time capsule punctuated with pitch-perfect music, exquisite pixel art, and brilliant Easter eggs. Terminator 2D: No Fate isn't just the best Terminator 2 game ever – it may just be the best way to revisit the '90s this side of hitching a ride to the past in a ball of electricity with your junk out. Trust me."

Finished it in 50 minutes.
It was a blast from start to finish.
I can't wait to try the alternative timelines and other modes.

I want more games than use this kind of pixel art and animation.

Great work from the devs.

I understand for many the length is an issue, but it is a must play.

I can completely understand the pricing issues. That said, it is a very good Terminator game and exactly what I would have wanted as a kid back in the day.

Hell, we could even get some DLC if this sells well enough.

Got just under 12 hours worth until I unlocked the last achievement. Great game with its price being the only negative in my view.

Aye big T2 and aliens fan here.
But that price is hilarious.

Just ask a tenner and be happy people get it

It's a high price for such a short game. But if this launched in the 90s it would probably be considered a standout game and cost the equivalent of $100 today.

Dickteased myself with this for a minute over the weekend and goddamn can you see the Sega CD Terminator 1 inspiration/similarities almost immediately :messenger_grinning:

This might as well be true, though still could be at least twice as long compared to some other games from I've played from the era.
The thing I realized looking at the cart with this and the D4 expansion in it at the same time, that I just couldn't drop that money when you get so much more at the same price range in this oversaturated era of gaming. Not to mention the steam sale is here now, and I was looking at Kingdom Come 2 at 40€ with season pass. Though luck, it's a game for the wishlist for now.

The price sure is a hard ask. But, what's on offer is pretty much what you'd expect/want given the trailers, despite the length. It's the T2 pixel-art arcade game. It looks just as it should, with some lovely sprite scaling where appropriate. The soundtrack rocks - not only the original compositions (which are awesome), but also some licensed music from the film. It expands the "lore", such as it were, from the film - there are scenes that are not a part of the movie, but make sense.

Is it worth $30/30€? Probably not for most. But I like to value my entertainment in terms of beer. 30€ would be about three decent pints, and the time to consume that would be probably the length of this game. Did I enjoy the beer, that really depends on the setting and companions. Did I enjoy this game, hell yes. Take that how you will. My only complaint is that when playing with a controller (and not using the D-pad), it's a bit too precise to go up/down a ledge with L-up/down + X. If you tilt the left stick even so slightly left/right, that action will fail. A minor complaint, but hopefully something that will be patched.

Should have called it Clanker 2 and some it for $10. That licensing wasn't cheap I bet. I'll wait for a deep sale.
