Terminator 4 is ready to start production in 2005, but will Arnold Schwarzenegger be back? Variety reports that Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines writers John Brancato and Michael Ferris have completed a draft of a script that was developed under the supervision of "T3" director Jonathan Mostow.

Schwarzenegger's availability is the big question mark, since he is the governor of California. There's already been talks for Arnold to return, but it would likely be in a limited role. Variety adds that the expectation is that "T4" will break in a new terminator model.
Even as someone who hated T3...no not hated, more like abhored, detested, loathed, etc.... Ill still be looking forward to this, especially if they go ahead without Arnold, Ill probably be let down again as its by the same guys but whatever

How abotu we get a director that can make a better movie? And maybe some screenwriters that can do the same, to boot

I really feel like going back and watching T1 and T2 tonight just to remind myself what a great thing James Cameron's Terminator was. The thought of T3 just disturbed me, seeing Arnold in great shape I'll admit, but still too wrinkly and obviously an old man trying to play the role of the Terminator. Not to mention the movie was closer to a remake than anything with its lame plot rehash of Arnold to the past once more. T4 I would watch if they made it but it's not even Terminator in my eyes anymore. That's such crap when you feel your favorite series have as many shitty sequels for each of the classics they already made.

LOL @ the haters. T3 might not have been as good as T1/T2 but it was still a damn solid movie. You people overblow things way too much.

Regardless, there better be a fourth movie considering how the 3rd one ends. You can't end a movie franchise like that.

Btw, I really enjoyed T3, so haters can be damned

T3 shouldn't have been made, with or without Cameron. I liked it anyway, though, despite it being far inferior to the first two.

I enjoyed T3... but it's time to let Arnold's model go we can just see the endoskeletons of his version and know it's him I mean this next movie has to take place in the friggin "war" against the man and machines in the future that we've only had glimpses of right...right?!?!?!? BTW let me just say that the glimpse we got in T3? The one that starts underwater looking at the skulls, and then comes above water as a HUGE HK flies overhead? Kick ass.

I liked T3 so stfu

I don't see a reason why Arnold needs to be in it (T4) anyway, the war has begun, there's no need for a disguised endoskeleton.

I don't get the level of love T1 and T2 get to be honest.

I mean, T2 has its own Anakin in John, and the less said about the shitty monologues the better.

They're great action flicks, but no more than that.

I liked T3, and I'm as much inclined to hate on big-budget movies as anyone else on this board. T2's the best of the series, but like a number of Cameron's movies, its major flaw is that it's just too moralistic and preachy. T3 dispenses with Sarah Connor's interminable handwringing monologues about nuclear war and whatnot, and replaces those scenes with asskicking. It's not a profound social commentary, but it's smart enough not to try to be.

I'd like to see a T4 without Arnold, and with the Future War that the franchise has been promising us for years. Continuity be damned--give me a Future War.

They should just stop i think, they are going down a dark path where the only way out would be to actually end the war.

3 may not be a great movie but it does make a great ending imo, John made it to the war alive, that was the whole premise of the series.

Id rather not see the predictable "Lets set off this huge emp/virus that will stop all the machines" ending to the war.

Loved T3. Had one of the best vehicle chases I've seen in a while. It wasn't as good as the originals, but still a worthy sequel.

T4 sounds good to me.

Yep...and it's hilarious that people dis T3 for being a remake of 2, when T2 was an even bigger remake of 1. I've recognized that fact for years...didn't stop me from loving it.

T3 did what it was supposed to do, and did it better then I thought it would...the loss of control over the computers and war machines, the countdown to doomsday, the sinking feeling the viewer gets seeing a world about to get turned into dust and realizing all but a handful of people have no clue about it. Plus that big chase scene was absolutely bad ass. And that ending was one of the coolest (and saddest) I've ever seen.

T4's gonna be all about the future war, which is the movie I've always wanted. Arnie's only gonna be needed if they ever show the factory where his disguised models are made. If so some reason there's a group of Arnie terminators fighting, they're not gonna be saying much, so you don't exactly need him for voice. So he really isn't needed except in a limited role. It'll be all about Conner and er, what's her face. And Reese damnit! And epic-scale battles with explosions out the fucking yin-yan. Hell, they could get two movies out of it for all I care.

My only real problem with T3 was that it was 90 minutes (though on the plus side it didn't drag on once), with all that future war stuff being left on the cutting room floor. This is the one time I hope they double dip with the DVD, cause I wanna see that shit. But who knows...maybe they'll just save those scenes for T4.

If, by enjoyed, you meant hated, then I'd gladly agree with you.

Yup. Ive never understood why people hold up T2 as some amazing film. Its just a good action flick. And I think T3, perhaps a bit lame, was not as bad as people make it out to be.

OK! It's official! They've released the plot for the T4 movie.

A robot, FROM THE FUTURE, comes BACK IN TIME (ohmygodohmygod) to.. and get this.. kill John Conner!!

And the only one who can save him is.. THE NEW GOVERNER OF CALIFORNIA!

(Disclaimer: This plot is not official)

Same here. The first time I saw it I was blown away by the effects of course. Each repeated viewing after that though revealed what a comedy it is. I still don't know why a robot that can run after speeding cars on foot needs to drive a street cycle up a flight of stairs.

Terminator 1 is a classic
T2 is pretty well as good as movies get
Terminator 3 was a very good action film, probably one of the best in recent years. Even Cameron liked it.

You can bet I'll be standing in line to see a Terminator 4. Especially if it deals with the aftermath of the nuclear war and John Conner setting up the rebellion.

COCKLES

being watched
Terminator Redemption has some nice scenes in it. I liked the opening CGI with the TX fleeing to the time displacement device. I guess it will be a future war, last days of the battle. There's really no reason for Arnold to be in it...except for a cameo at the end where his thawed out on the cryogenic racks for his particular model (twice).

T3 has lots of great action, but it missed out on addressing some tiny flaws in the franchise which really irritated me...and I've banged on in enough Term threads about the stupid Internet/Skynet thing before.

For the record, I consider T2, while good, to be one of the most overrated sequels ever. Better than the first, my ass.

The next person who thinks they're funny by telling someone to eat the pills in their medicine cabinet should go eat all the pil--- I mean, should be banned.

Terminator 3 was one of the biggest dissapointments for me. A trully pathetic movie. And since I hear that the same idiots who wrote T3 will write T4 I will never watch this movie. The Terminator franchise stopped at #2 for me. If I could just wipe out T3 from my memory it would have been great...

FAR more plot holes than the original, pacing issues, and the fact that John Connor is just fucking annoying = sorry, no

You're fully entitled to be wrong, of course :D (kidding)
