Text editor options don't work on mobile

At least that's the case on my Pixel 2 XL running Chrome. All of the editing options above the text box I'm currently typing in do nothing.

Just me?

(Latest stable Android and Chrome)

Press the cog

Hmm. Oh damn. That's not very intuitive! Why should the options only work after pressing what's normally understood as a settings icon? Makes very little sense. In all other rich text editors I've ever used they just work when you press them.

But thanks!

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
There is a bug on iOS Safari too after I paste text and then I hit backspace some lines after. The first word of the pasted text disappears.

I can live with it, but if someone sees this, it’s worth taking a look. I think I can reproduce it since it has been consistent.

The rich text control is fairly buggy on iOS Safari. I often "cog off" the WYSIWYG mode to make it behave better.
