TGS: New DOA4 Media + Info

wow! another game has definitely shaped up (or maybe its just cause they are showing more).

thanks for the hands-on and comments. sounds like the gameplay will be the big improvement in this sequel

Just watched the Gamedaily videos! Holy shit! DoA4 looks AMAZING in motion. That is on shakey cam vid too!

Also, can we please put the rest the bitching about the character models. When you see it in video you can definitely see they are a step up over the Xbox build. Pretty big step up too!

1.5 IS DEAD. 360 IS HERE!!

someone had mentioned to me that doa4 was delayed... is this true?

While the DOA series is only decent, the Tekken series = turd on a stick. The pressure sensitive moves of DOA3 were a bad idea and the counters become quite annoying after a while (Soul Calibur has a balanced counter system).

I really hope they make some serious improvements to Tekken. It's the casual gamers fave because it's a zero skill jugglefest (well, I take that back, you can get quite skillful at juggling). That's what makes it bad. Soul Calibur only had just a bearable amount of juggling.

Gamespot Dead or Alive 4 Updated Hands-On:

Out of every aspect of the game, the combat system has probably seen the most work since our last look. The faster pacing weÂ’d noted has been focused more and really given the game a fresh feel. Without being too coy about it, we see the changes as being similar to the differences the two Kill Bill films. Whereas the combat in the first movie was sound and a little showy, the second movieÂ’s fights, most notably Uma ThurmanÂ’s gritty brawl with Darryl Hannah in the mobile home, were grittier. Such is the case with DOA4.

Counters are much harder to pull off--we havenÂ’t spent enough time with the game to decide if it's because the fighting is faster or because the timing for them has been tweaked (we expect itÂ’s a little of both). The implementation of a visual cue for staggering opponents is an interesting twist that we like. The same holds true for the ability to hit opponents when they're on the ground and being able to snag someone in a throw when you're on the ground.

Wouldn't adding motion blur to gameplay affect the hardcore frame counting fighting game people?

Maybe they could make it an option for the rest of us to turn on and the hardcore competition guys to turn off.

They added 4 more since the link was posted.

Looks awesome. This is now my most anticipated 360 game.

A big FUCK YEAH!!! to that arcade stick

I think one of the most underappreciated aspects of the DOA series is that it's pretty much the only fighting game where you can have Bruce Lee punch Hulk Hogan into a velociraptor. :lol

The announcer's voice is very annoying IMO. I'd be nice if you could select from a few different announcers like you can in some other games (HSG:OT for example). Other than that I like what I see.

You could? Damn I must have missed that when I played it. That means there probably a good chance you can chance it here too. Thank goodness.

There were quite a few of them as well. Some from playable characters, past bosses, then there's the club DJ (which I think I have mine set to at the moment) and some others who I'm not sure where they came from but they seemed pretty random... staff/friends perhaps...

Do you know anything about anything you are talking about?
