Before Sunset is pure dialogue, and it requires you to have seen a relatively unknown film that is often thought of as Gen-X trash, it was destined to be overlooked.

I know it was destined to be overlooked, but it's so freakin' good.

I love Before Sunrise/Sunset... keeping you on the edge of your seat through dialogue about a topic as "simple" as romantic encounters and how they change a person. And it's still so much more than that...

Speaking of Before Sunset, I'm currently listening to Julie Delpy - Ocean Apart

Before Sunrise was pretty well-reviewed as well. I don't think the perception was that it was "Generation X trash"....maybe you are thinking of Singles or Reality Bites or Threesome.

Critics would be pretty familiar with the original, though I don't know about the Hollywood elite. Their memory doesn't seem to stretch very far beyond the last 6 months, if Oscar nominations are anything to go by.

Before Sunrise is well-loved by most critics and movie freaks like ourselves, but the majority of people I know lump it in with Reality Bites and other 90s films of the same ilk.

Best Supporting Actor: Jamie Foxx (Collateral)

Best Directing: Clint Eastwood (M$B)

Best Actor: Paul Giamatti (Sideways)

Best Actress: Hilary Swank (M$B)

Best Picture: Million Dollar Baby

You probably got all those right although it would be pretty hard for Paul Giamatti to win, so I think Jamie Foxx or Johnny Depp will win.

Jamie Foxx in Collateral over Clive Owen in Closer is a crime. I think he was just posting his favorite but it's either gonna be Freeman or Owen for best supporting actor.
