If you have a chance, GO SEE 'EM LIVE.

I went there tonight at last minute, got a ticket from a friend since it was sold out. Boy oh boy was it worth it, they're phenomenal on stage.

It was so surreal though, before they got on stage they were all walking around while the opening acts were playing, super accessible people.

I'll say it again, if you have a chance, GO!

I saw them in November and talked to Mr. Win Butler at the merch booth before hand for a few minutes. Sold me a poster for 3 american dollars, but was out of shirts in anything except medium. When asked when Funeral was coming out on vinyl, he correctly told me 'mid-Feb'.

Oh, and the live show was mindblowing.

Eh, I don't have a problem with them. I just don't get the hyperbolic praise the band gets from some people.

And I don't really like their album much.

The praise thing is a bit annoying, but if you let that dictate what you listen to there won't be much left. And you're the last person who should be complaining about hyperbolic praise, Mr. Super Furry Animals. Jokes, jokes.

Don't count on it. If the other SFA albums haven't, another one sure won't. Some people just don't know good music when they hear it. SFA deserve a lot more praise (other than from you, of course).

I saw The Arcade Fire back in December, they put on an absolutely phenomenal live show, even if Regine is an undermedicated drama queen. Cannot wait to see them again at the end of May.

Hmm can't really say, didn't follow the scene a whole lot this past year like I used to. It's pretty good if I went to about 5 shows... :/

But I don't think they're that big, they played at the corona here and there was only a few thousand peeps if not only 1-2k people. It's a small venue so of course is was a sell out.

I might be wrong though.

I love Funeral, but I have to say that I'm a little Arcade Fire'd out.

Every day I swear I have a conversation that starts like this:

"Hey, have you heard The Arcade Fire?"

Seeing them on the cover of Time Magazine last month was pretty awesome though

Well it's like that with a lot of bands I listen to. I listen to it then peeps ask me what it is and then they don't think much of it. Then a year later "HEY MAN HAVE YOU HEARD XXX, IT'S AWESOME!".

:lol

Canadian version. Second week of April.
Many blurbs about Toronto/Canadian indie bands... controller.controller, The Dears, DFA1979, Metric, Broken Social Scene etc.

And about the Montreal scene, since it has exploded. They're starting to compare it to a new seattle. It's a bit far fetched but oh well heh.

I would've liked to have gone, just one small problem -

THE TICKETS SOLD OUT IN 15 FUCKING MINUTES!

#*^&^# I missed getting tickets for all 3 shows. Why couldn't they have played at a larger venue :(

I really quite like The Arcade Fire. I'll need to find the EP. According to Wikipedia it's JUST been re-released? Nice timing.

I think it fits in this thread:

Rumors fly that David Bowie will perform some songs @ "fashion rocks" event (new york on september 8th) together with AF as backing band! :)
(That Bowie and AF play there is nothing new but to see them they performing together would be a nice thing, imo.)
