The basics of developmental psychology (there aren't really any clear lines here between the states):
1) We're born into a state of ignorance! (and also innocence!)
2) But we're pretty quickly told some basic facts/"facts" and rules to live by! (we are given a Traditional state of mind, you may say)
(or we aren't and are instead thrown onto the streets by a crackhead whore mother, where we sadly maybe never learn anything..)
3) Then gradually we begin to see this reductive (at best) logic that we have been told for what it is (hopefully with the support of good authority figures), and we begin to start thinking for ourselves! (Historically, Scientific Modernity began when a large/brave enough mass of people had reached this level!)
(or we don't, and we become a mummy's boy, or a spock, a hardcore celebrity worshiper, a fundamentalist, a fascist, one of these old "the law is the law." people, ect..)
4) Eventually we begin to see understand just how circumstancial Truth Goodness and Beauty can be, and so we begin seeing people and situations in a more individualised manner, and our logic starts becoming living and breathing, in our attempts at properly dealing with the infinte complexities of life! (this Pluralistic state of mind is what brang about the revolution of 60's)
(or we don't and we become arrogant..)

Now, this Pluralist state is where society as a whole currently is. "Too each his own" is it's motto, and it is heard everywhere these days! (even from many arrogant rationalists, traditionalists, and anti-socials, who have been dragged along with it..) It's the status quo!
......but it clearly isn't the final step of the evolution of the mind and culture!
It certainly has it's pathologies!
It places too much emphasis on the individual side of life, and it begins to attack the universal aspect! (in my younger days I've done this myself, to a lesser extent.. sorry)
And now it's gone so far that acording to many, any and evey standard we have is "Patriarchy" to all be destroyed! (with force not reason!).....
...and this has obviously led to all kinds of horrible things!...........

So the solution is new state of consciousness that will address these issues, and a new culture to match it!
A consciousness/culture of Honesty and Phenomenology!
