The basketball scene in American History X, or "Bad scenes in good movies"

jurassic park; the scene where the Rex eats the guy in the toilet. "when you gottago, you gotta go." soooooo cheesy.

What is the actual reason for this? She's a benevolent character right? I never understood that scene at all. Was she looking at the ring or something? Creepy as fuck.
A test of her will to resist the One Ring as mentioned as well as a demonstration of her inherent power and what she was capable of. It might even be what the Nazgul, Sauron and fell beasts would see if they ever came across Galadriel.

Actually the two that I find more annoying is Ian grabbing the flare after the T-Rex was clearly distracted and the kids not figuring out how to turn off a flashlight.

That was one of the funniest parts of the movie, and one of his best lines.

The scene where the kid gets electrocuted seems whack and unnecessary. Only point for that scene being there is for tacked on drama.

It was on cable last night and I can't get over how corny this scene is. 5'8" Ed Norton throwing Magic Johnson passes and ending the game on a Teen Wolf-esque breakaway reverse monster dunk. What are some other bad scenes in otherwise good movies?

So my 7th grade science teacher and 6th-9th grade soccer coach was his brother Jim Norton. When I was in 8th grade, Primal Fear came out and Ed Norton was hitting it big. He quit after that and next thing you know we're watching American History X and my former coach is one of the Nazi-skinheads in the basketball scene.

It was weird.

Don't be jealous of Edward Norton's basketball skills OP. That shit was 100% legit. ONE HUNDRED PERCENT LEGIT.

Ed Norton is a baller, what are you talking about!?

I learned a valuable lesson from American History X. As a white man, when shaving your head, don't congregate with other white men with shaved heads.

And he dribbles like a 3rd grader to boot.

The fight scenes in Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. Nolan can't shoot an action scene worth shit.

In the book she just changed her demeanor to drive the point home to Frodo that she'd be corrupted by the ring.

The movies Large Marge'd her because the audience is stupid.

I love these movies but yes Nolan fight scenes are better left to a minimum. Considering the physical confrontations in Rises, especially between Bane and Batman I am a little afraid. Just a little.

The Joker
escape sequence and chase
in the The Dark Knight was terrible on almost every level. The editing, the pacing, the composition, the shaky cam, the lack of any choreography, ect...

How could you guys hate Galadriel going apeshit?

Would've been so much better if they'd stuck to Baccarat, but the American public doesn't want to watch Baccarat.

They covered it too much. It was like watching poker finals on tv. I like poker, but they didn't need to accurately portray it in real time. The films attention to detail was really poker heavy, wouldn't have been less enjoyable with shorter poker scenes. Any game covered that heavily would have been boring.

I'm remind of the Thundercats episode where they encounter the forest leaf people that seemingly die within a matter of hours but from their perspective lived out a long life spanning ages. Such a brilliant, brilliant episode almost ruined because they bust out into singing and dancing at the end.

The swat team asshole with his one liners in The Dark Knight almost ruined an excellent chase scene.

The cheesy one liner mech suit marine guy in Avatar during the final battle sequence fucked with that as well.

They Live-The "put on the glasses scene". I mean I get what they were going for but it's eight minutes long, ENOUGH I GET IT.

I REALLY tried to get into LOTR again recently. So many cringe worthy moments I couldn't take it anymore. Shame since they are good movies too.

I'm gonna get skewered for this, but the party crash scene in TDK was executed rather poorly (aside from Joker telling that story to Rachel).
