The Best Opening Scene to a Movie is now online in glorious 4K

Upon rewatch, this has topped the Final Destination 2 intro for me.

Be sure to watch in 4K.

It's missing the slow build-up at the beginning and the finale scene at the end, but you get it…

The movie is Final Destination Bloodlines.

Why? Most of the scene is crappy CGI.

Nah, doesn't even come close to FD2. The scene on the highway is much more believable and that's what it makes it cool to watch and rewatch. Despite its age it also hides the CGI really well, not like Bloodlines.

Recency bias with the OPs opinion. There are many movies with much more interesting sequences. Some of which are here.

Huh, this isn't 4k.

And this sure as hell isn't.

Edit: also some great other openings scenes in the topic.

I wouldn't want to go up to the space needle on just general principles. Because of FD2, when I see a log truck, I start having heart palpitations.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom comes to mind.
Edit: heck, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark comes to mind too.
