Finally got my hands on some Hysingla and it's pretty cool. Turns into gel instead of dissolving, basically impossible to crush. I'm impressed.

Well. It has that JJ Trek film feel. I fucking despise them.
Those films aren't trek. At all. (Beyond kinda is, but ever so slightly)

And then there's this shit. (copied from the STD thread)
- CBS chief Leslie Moonves not a fan of sci-fi. Dont know difference between star trek and star wars.
- Bryan Fuller script was fine, good to star trek fans.
- Leslie Moonves wants the series to look more advanced than any other Star Trek series. The look and tech don't match the canon of prime timeline. Looks like another reboot.
- After crashing with that, Bryan Fuller left.
- The new showrunners not star trek fans.
- Rumour that the plot involves trans-dimensional characters, explaining why the Spock father actor was also a Romulan and a Klingon commander.
- Merchandising companies are not happy with the visual, because original Star Trek visual sells a lot more than the reboots.
- Netflix mad with CBS (they pay the bill).

Plus the designs shown.

I think there's two ways it could go. Mueller is either the hammer or the shovel. He might have taken all of this shitshow personally on some level, because Trump has been shitting all over the agency he ran post 9/11 during some tough times. So he brings the fire and brings everything out into the sunlight.

Or he's in the loop and he helps with a cover up. I just don't think the craven portion of the GOP has reached all levels of their membership. He might be a holdout. But if he's in, he can make this thing look dramatic as hell and ultimately peter out.

edit: lol, I know. I feel like a mad man too. this all comes down to a republican fbi director doing the right thing by his country.

more realistically, trump is so far gone, a faction within the gop are willing to let him sink

I can dig it. I'll watch it again thru the lens you've provided.
But you know, People hated on Sisko and DS9 initially too. And every other Star Trek that wasn't like the old Star Trek. I'm looking to see what the future looks like today, not what it looked like years ago. For this show to change the formula it needs to actually change or evolve with where we are. Might flop. Who knows. But It's not going to cost me anything to give it a shot. And I've got two very good reasons to support it while others run away.

I'd like to mention I like the JJ Abrams' Trek movies because they are good unlike the other ones. Except for Khan, that's a good movie.

You know, I think the new Trek might actually be good, depending on the writing. However, if they move away from actual sci-fi, then it will suck. The trailer reminded me of Danny Boyle's Sunshine, which I like even though a lot of people don't.

Anybody down with an NFL boycott? I don't think i can go full Cleveland browns and just watch none of it.

But I can skip broadcasts without my team. And definitely will skip any Patriots games. Cuz fuck those cheaters.

I respect what they're doing though.
Maybe I'll consider not watching at my home but only in public viewing. That's something, right?
