When you go to Aldi's use the empty boxes they have sitting on the counters by the door and when you're finished with the cart, hook it back up to get your quarter back.

I went twice. Once to look around when it first opened and actually shopped the second time. Found out about the no bags and carried my shit to the car. Their prices ain't that good. Aldi was supposed to be just looking around but I found everything I needed for my recipe (baking cookies with my niece) so I went with it. Again only had a few things, so I carried them out. Found out about the cart rentals later on and decided I wasn't interested in that much nonsense.
Love Aldi, although none are near me, and I'm not driving 3 extra miles for some reason...
but the cart thing, a little annoying, but a good idea. same with the bags. less convenient, but forces you to think ahead and bring your own bags, which is better for the environment.
