Have you seen the instructional videos?
Very useful.
Also, I'd recommend starting off as Ragna, Jin, Noel, or Taokaka.

The Arcade sequel/update is rumored for October... I wouldn't count on Arc giving up their traditionKAL2006 said:I`m hoping Arc dont release a billion versions of this game
The next BlazBlue should be released at the earliest in 3 years. This game is deep enough to last a long time. Balance changes should be done through patches. If they release too many versions they will scare away alot of people, just like they did with Guilty Gear.
Oh and hurry up and announce a PAL version

Just because Aksys isn't doing a PAL release doesn't mean no one is, Aksys has never brought things euroside... ever. Usually random publishers pick up their games, we can only hope someone gets BB.Urban Scholar said:For everyone asking for a PAL release, I remember reading from aksys games that they had no plans to do so. Well the now gone LE I think for right the limbo must suck arse.

KOFXII - 2
BlazBlue 2
Well looks like the fighting game genre is going to be extinct again, it was good while it lasted I guess. The only way this can be tolerated if they release the next versions as DLC (and retail GotY edition).

I'll be honest, I hopped into training mode and ATTEMPTED to memorize moves... But as soon as I get into the heat of battle all that shit goes straight out the window and I act more instinctively, often times causing me to fuck up motions/presses.
I never played fighting games as a kid... I don't have that base that most of you have coming into this. This is the ONLY genre that for the most part remains inaccessible to me. Pisses me off.
SuperMattyFighter2T said:3 years!? I doubt their goal is to wait long enough to release an update that only the hardcore, who stuck with the game, is going to care. The game sold pretty well from what I understand. Hopefully they don't take too long for an update. I wouldn't mind if they dropped something by this time next year.
I don't see the big deal. People will buy a sequel every year for a FPS or Sports game, but it's bad for a fighter to receive updates? And hopefully we can all just forget KOF XII happened for the time being.
KAL2006 said:Well with other genres that come out yearly, they are completely different to each other. Lets take Call of Duty as an example. Call of Duty 4, WaW and Modern Warfare 2. All have different weapons, campaigns, online stages and etc. Where as Guilty Gear XX and Guilty Gear XX Reload (or SF2 and SF2 CE) are near enough the same game. The only other genre that has it like that is sports games but thats a different story. I'd rather wait 3years and have BlazBlue 2 with better graphics, new stages and characters and improved gameplay.
What if they did the upgrade thing with all games (e.g Super Resident Evil 4 - now with 2 new characters, 1 new stage, balance changes and released a year after the orignal) another year later (Ultra Resident Evil 4 XX with another new character, more balance changes)

And on the Guilty Gear Syndrom of releasing all these different versions: The game has "Add-On Content" written right on the back of the box.

Exactly.Foxix said:Anyway whatever they do they need to be careful since online for me is crucial to BB, if they do something that would hinder my ability to play with friends or make me pay more too soon I probably wouldn't look forward to a sequel.

I can't imagine Arc System would be stupid enough to divide their already limited user-base like that. Game-altering DLC has to be free. Cosmetic DLC can be for money.
Otherwise, just give us a completely new retail version in a year. I'm cool with that. You're much more likely to reinvigorate players with a new retail version than with DLC that alienates new players (who would have to buy the original disc and new DLC). Add a few bells and whistles to keep the long-time players interested. Everyone wins.

Pachinko said:So this game is 70 dollars in canada... what I"m wondering from you devout followers in this thread- is it worth 70 dollars ? After having a runaround given to me by NCIX I finally have an arcade stick shipping to me from their competitor newegg that will apparently show up on tuesday and as much as I like SF4 I'd like to buy another fighter. I played KOF12 at a friends house and wasn't much of a fan but BlazBlue actually looks like quite a bit of fun... I"m just really hesitant to jump into it for 70 bucks...
So try and sway me gaf.
