She doesn't have a consistent up close game. Use her down A or down C to outpoke if necessary, instant block, or faultless defense and GTFO of town.

The real problem is that her more effective close range attacks have a huge windup time, so it's very easy for opponents to get counter hits. It's very hard to put close-range pressure on somebody. Her jumping C attacks are nice but her ground attacks need to be used more as baiting techniques or defense.

I'm thinking it might have something to do with the angle you jump at and how high you jump and such...I'm not 100%, though. Gotta try it out in training mode

Most of her combos seem to revolve around her 6C, B+C, 6C loop and her drive juggle which i've seen setup two ways so far (from her command throw, and from her 22C)

Her 6C is great for starting everything, along with D-A-B-C-B.

Yeah, Arakune has become my mosted hated character play against. I came across several rooms where people were being dominated by an Arakune who would curse, move to the far corner, toss bees, minions, ground tentacles, and clouds over and over to the point where there's some much random crap flying around the screen to break through without getting hit and juggled by something.

So is Arakune a horribly imbalanced charater? Haven't played the game yet since I'm picking it up tomorrow but if there are seriously cheap charaters maybe it's not such a good idea to get it after all.

considering i was doing terrible with every char...10 wins, 50 losses, and then started using Arakune for the next 20-30 matches and got a 1:1 ratio, i think he's just a beast or maybe just newbie-friendly? the game seems to be pretty balanced despite lots of people picking ragna/noel/jin.

tager sucks tho...he needs to be beefed up somehow, idk how.

not really. there are a bunch of tactics in this game that seem kind of impenetrable, but really just need to be dealt with in a specific way. I guess it fools noobs (myself included, I often lose to Arakune for the same reasons as everyone else.)

As far as I can tell, so far signs point to Nu being the horribly overpowered character.

Play koogy from Dustloop. He plays Arakune/Tager and I play him all the time. I'm guessing Oichi could be good too, but I've never played him.

No, Arakune is a fucking horribly imbalanced character. HORRIBLY IMBALANCED. I actually hung out with HeartNana last night and we were talking about that, and he agrees, that character is flat out broken, and is going to get nerfed HARD when they release a revision. Either that or everyone is going to get souped up so much that Arakune's brokenness will mean nothing.

Me, Jube, Lyte etc are playing like 6 hours of games every day. I've never once got a message and im on the metatag.
