The Blood of Dawnwalker — Gameplay Overview

Eh idk, the fact you have to pause to use abilities seems a bit meh. The combat was always the weakest part of The Witcher series. Seems kinda the same here. The story and traversal looks interesting though.

Combat looks meh but at least they are trying something new and that camera is too close.

Why can none of you retarded ass devs do a vampire power fantasy right? Jesus fucking christ what a disapointment

I can't play games with a FOV that close without getting a headache so i'm hoping they add a slider to move the camera back substantially. You literally can't even appreciate the environments or the world when the camera is right on top of you like that.

Looks like something I will enjoy. Atmosphere gives interesting vibes, I like the day-night mechanics. Gameplay looks fine as well.
I'm also very intrigued by the story, and story is key for me, in any game.

I only watched about 20 seconds total so far but that was because I was skipping to random places in the video to get an initial impression - however my impression was that if I click to 15 random spots in your video about gameplay and only one of the times I saw combat, that's not a great initial impression.

I like what I'm seeing here. And the combat seems more weighty, more impactful than Witcher 3, so that's good.

Might be really good.

Apparently, most people liked the mediocre combat presented. I've lost hope in the average video game player.

Sorry but, what did you expect ? DMC/NG levels of combat polish ?

I mean, this is your typical Eastern European (Central to be precise) dev, besides the jank, the not so good combat is to be expected.

The same strong and weak points as TW3, apparently.

I mean, this looks and feels like The Witcher 3 : Vampire edition with everything that entails (good atmosphere/Grimdark, mid combat/performance problems most likely)

Personally brother, I liked what I saw, gotta say though, I get the feeling that this WILL get rushed to the market/release in a not so good state...
Eastern European devs unfortunately, have a history with this kind of thing anyone who expects D1 stellar blade/Lies of P polish is in for a ride...

I'm sure the camera will get adjusted as mentioned at start of video "pre beta - everything will change". Can't complain about a single player game with a guy as the main character

It would be better if he walked into the cathedral and was immediately incinerated by the holy flame of the Lord. Other than that it looks ok.

This game just oozes with atmosphere. Sure needs polishing (haha) but the game is giving me such good Witcher 3 fibes and I can't help but be really excited about this game.

I think there is potential but right now, it looks really rough and i'm not even talking about the graphics.
It's simple but important things like the voice acting of the main character... just feels off.

All I wanted was for more devs to rip-off W3 and improve on it, and I've since given up on improving.

So to me it all seems great with better exploration/more verticality. Except for directional combat. I hope there's some decent option for ranged combat. I actually really liked W3 combat, I use same basic bitch fighting style when I can of rolling/dashing around and spamming attacks, works for W3, Elden Ring, Hogwarts, Grail... :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I just want good quests, cool world and decent writing, pretty please. And lively city, which seems to be at least half way there.

Enjoying the hell out of Tainted Grail so I'm hopeful about smaller devs doing RPGs.

Looked awful. Stiff, too dark, camera like in Witcher 1…
Some cool concepts but not execution

Looks good, nothing too original but setting seems interesting enough and well done

Don't understand why people get so hung up on the combat, it does not have to be perfect for story driven RPG, just functional imho. And at least they are trying new things so why not.

Will probably be there day one.

Traversal and atmosphere is good. The forced vantage point and FoV sucks, and the combat looks to suffer because of it. Looks very claustrophobic. I sure hope there are other perspective options. A traditional 3rd person view would be fine, I think.

I liked what I saw and they're taking a risk with the combat. This might end up being a big sleeper hit (pun intended).

Goddammit Im not a fan of directional combat like that. Blehhhh.

3rd person arpg combat has been done well many times, just copy it. If story and atmosphere and characters are your strong points, no need to re-invent the wheel with some weird ass combat.

I was so hyped for this game but every time they show it off my hype goes down a peg.

Honestly hope to god Im wrong and its awesome, but my spider sense is tingling that combat is ass.

The premise looks good and I could live with combat. I am just tired of grim dark shit. Some serious issues are alright but not all the god damn time with "dark" atmosphere everywhere. For that I can read/watch the news.

I just want some KCD2 (NPC behavior, approach to quests, writing and storytelling, rich world) with magic and dragons!

Hell yeah. Been waiting on the new game from the people responsible for The Witcher PC trilogy. This looks very promising. Easily in my top ten most hyped.

I'm still interested but it looks really derivative. A little sick of these open-world tavern town-ass games. Can we start picking an earlier time in history?

The walking up walls thing was cool, though.

But also, "we helped make The Witcher but left the company who made The Witcher so we could make The Witcher."

so RTWP for the abilities?
and the combat is kind of clunky ....
it's like slower witcher and in a bad way

witcher combat is bad, but this pause between ability is seems more lame and clunky

well, at least the main character is looking better
there still time, i wish they will do better tho

Well at least it looks better than it seemed in that awful trailer they had a few weeks ago.
It's nothing particularly amazing but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. The combat looks like it might be decent when you are actually playing, but it looks awful in a hands off demo like this.
Also the camera is waaaay too close, I hope they have some option to push it at least like an extra 50% back.

Idk, the success of the game depends on certain factors. Is the world alive? Are the quest and the writing good?
How is the combat, is there good graphics fidelity. Is it fun?
