The GBP is taking a beating with the more dire Brexit possibilities.

History of GBP/USD since 1791. Only in 1984 and 1985 was it lower for the year.

Update:

Now at its second lowest, above only 1985.

What an embarrassment. As long as you're taking back control right? Fuck, this is what happens when a nation succumbs to the fear-mongering of regressive racists.

Like any good American, I am just trying to figure out how this effects ME.

Also I am very sad. Glad I visited the place BEFORE it turned into a foggy Mad Max hells cape. Worried about my British friends with complicated jobs.

And I thought Stay had such sterling prospects.

But seriously, stay strong UK-GAF.

Posting this from other thread;

Omg Suzanne Evans (UKIPer) just claimed on Radio 4 the markets are crashing due to project fear and government propaganda.

She also talked loyalty to your country and the markets should show some.

What a mad fucking loony moron.

She then said that leaving the EU will protect us from the volatility created in the Euro.

wow when i was a kid I remember the Pound being twice the value of a USD. 1 GBP = 2 USD. Now 3 GBP = only 4 USD

Those were the good old days. Take a holiday to Florida and fill up a suitcase or two to bring home with clothes and shit. It was like a massive 50% off sale.
...and the amount of US games I imported. Yikes.

I'd love to buy plenty of things from the Brits. Too bad they won't have anything because the rest of Europe has most of the materials. It's okay, though -- when I vacation, I'll trade my crisp one dollar bill for a couple hundred of your pounds.

Got it live now. Thanks!

Wow. Why does everyone in North vote to Remain so strongly compared to rest of UK?

Oh. It's Scotland that wants to stay. Will it be shitty for me to hope Scotland votes to leave UK after this? Or is that just more pain?

It could have global repercussions. Expect stagnant, or even lower rates. Markets could be hit heavily for a while (think 401k). It could lead to a mini-recession in its most extreme.

You can adopt the euro as official currency without being part of the EU (Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City, Kosovo and Montenegro).

That simply would not work with a country like UK. These are obvious exceptions (that I had really, totally, absolutely not forgotten).
