The CDX is so great.

NO. I actually own this version in addition to the original Sega CD version. Terrible TERRIBLE port
Blech. They'd better not use it for the Gems Collection version, then. Thanks for the heads up.

Hopefully not. The ugly load screens are enough to ruin it. The SCD version simply had a short, black screen pause between levels (loaded about as fast as a cart even). The PC version had this really ugly load screen between EVERY map (that includes the time warping mid-level). It takes longer and looks terrible...

My friend had one of these back in the day...I remember being hella jealous. His Sonic CD and the Lunars convinced me to get the Sega CD. Really wish I had played Popful Mail while I had it though; really stupid to pass that one up.

Ah, got a question about Genesis/Megadrive carts. There was never a regional thing goin' on, was there? Could I fit a Megadrive cart into an American CDX and play it just fine?

There's a cartridge slot shape problem between UK and US megadrives, but that's all. However, later megadrive titles have region protection, and all CD games have regions.

I started off my 16-bit life with an asian megadrive that would play all games... it was badass :)

Aw damn. :(

There's a UK copy of Sparkster that I'd like to pick up. This sucks. Guess I'll wait 'til a US copy pops up somewhere.
