Who remembers the hype around this album? It was everywhere. This was back when journalists were pimping "electronica" in america. The electronic movement was was throttle, raves were extremelly popular, suddenly there was this whole trend. The style of Designer's Republic (and various immitators) were everywhere.

I miss that time, because life was so easy for me back then. </end of life drama segment>

Who remembers the strenght of this cd? Damn it sounded GOOD when it came out. Most of the tracks on this cds are classics. I still listen to that cd once in a while. I still feel it's the most complete effort from the Chems; as a matter of fact, they never managed to outclass Dig Your Own hole.

This is seriously one of the best album of the '90. It defined 1996-1997 so much. This is one of those rare electronic album that you can still listen, nearly a decade after its release.

I never had the album, but yeah, the singles were awesome. They were still techno or whatever, but still really popular in the mainstream.

Really liked this album until I discovered the likes of Alec Empire, the Digital Hardcore movement and the Junglism and Darkside Drum & Bass of Remarc, Dillinja, Lemon D, Technical Itch etc.

I discovered Alec and co later on too, but I never felt like reject the chemical bros. Alec became a parody of himself with time. I think his whole dhr thing got to his head and his lost focus, Intelligence and sacrifice had some good tracks, but nothing meaningful. I think he actually manged to hit the limist of his own genre of music o_O

Hehehe yeah I agree man. Empire produced some incredible stuff from 92 to about 97 and then just lost the plot. I&S was just awful in my opinion. Even the electronica disc was rubbish compared to his amazing Force Inc. affiliated stuff.

I dunno, for me once I got into those guys Chems became kinda irrelevent, but thats purely personal. It still has a bit of a nostalgia factor though... last years of High School and all that.
