Has anyone managed to order one of these? Do they even exist? Just found out about it a few hours ago

^Guy in the article managed to get one made, but the Chipotle official line is:

"The mythic quesarito doesn't exist anywhere. It's not on our menu, it's not in our training materials, it does not exist anywhere in our system...If it were up to me the quesarito as a specific item...I would love to see it go away," he says. "What I would love to continue is a culture where our employees are really taught to accommodate the requests of our customers."

Most fast food places will make whatever you ask. A friend of mine got McDonalds to give them a burger with chicken nuggets and a mcflurry on it once.

I get this every time, and yes it is amazing. The only problem is that the tortilla breaks 95% of the time they wrap it. Usually have to get it double wrapped.

Dont ask for a "quesarito", just ask them to put the cheese before heating the tortilla.

it's pretty good. i mean, it's not that much different from how they prepare the regular burritos since they heat/grill those anyways. the melted cheese is a nice addition, but i prefer the bowls/salads anyways.

I really wish they had Qdoba over here in London. I have to settle for Chiplotle, even though there is one on just about every other block. I miss queso and habanero salsa...and their absolutely fantastic chorizo breakfast burritos!

The article makes it sound like you're just a pain in the ass if you order this.

Also, I can't believe people think Qdoba is better than Chipotle. Qdoba is like a notch above Taco Bell

the company line seems to imply they will make whatever you want w/ the ingredients they have.

What? Qdoba and Chipotle are virtually the same thing (albeit I could still tell them apart any day of the week).

Chipotle's meat seems to taste better than Qdoba's, in my experience.

Although I think it's been about seven months since I've eaten at either.

Qdoba is terrible, chipotle is amazing. I was going to order this friday night, but there was a huge line behind me and I did not want to hassle the staff who was already huddling their asses off.

My wife always orders them and it backs up the line a good ten people. But every Chipotle in CA knows what it is.

We moved to Texas for a short time two years ago and the workers would always be like "Wha? You want a Quesadilla? Quesadilla burrito? No. No, sorry don't know what a Quesarito is"

It is pretty amazing, but I feel bad holding up the line for the cheese melting process.

Edit: If anyone argues that Freebirds tastes better, I will hunt you down and knock the burrito out of your hands. That place is a pure waste of money.

Let them think what they want, we all know that Willy's is the best of the bunch. More topping options and superior chips + salsas.

Maybe I've just had bad luck but every time I've been to Qdoba the food tasted pretty bad. Everything just seems kind of stale.

For me, Qdoba has more juicy marinated chicken, Chipotle is better with their steak and barbacoa. The tiebreaker is that chipotle has better rice.

Chipotle absolutely has better meat and pinto beans. Their salsa is better too.

Qdoba's queso is untouchable. I also prefer their rice.

Panchero's has the best tortillas since they're fresh. I also like that they mix all their ingredients in the burrito before rolling.

If I could have a perfect burrito from these places, it'd be a Panchero's tortilla with Qdoba rice and queso, Chipotle pinto beans, barbacoa, carnitas, and red tomatillo salsa, plus cheese and sour cream, mixed up before it was rolled. It'd probably be so good I'd never want to eat anything else ever again. So thankfully, it's impossible.

Someone (like my mom) probably saw this, got the two restaurants confused and went to Chipotle and demanded they make it. (or they had it/seen it before and asked someone to make it there.)

(Note: My mom really liked the Chili Burger over at Taco Bravo - local chain. Imagine hamburger bun with a little of their mild sauce spread on the buns, and then as you'd have in a standard crunchy taco - ground beef, lettuce and cheese -

One day she somehow got confused and was craving one and went to the Del Taco drive through and told the person she didn't want a burger, she wanted "That burger but with the stuff in the tacos - what do you call that?" and argued with the guy for a while because it's not on their menu. Said they made her describe it and they did their best to replicate it, but she said it tasted horrible once she tried it.)

Meh.

My post-workout meal is generally a double-meat burrito bowl and a chicken quesadilla. That's equivalent to a triple-meat quesarito. Well, I guess it's lacking 1 tortilla, since the standard quesadillas use one folded over, while a quesarito would require 2 to create the full "wrap" with cheese in-between.

edit: also, the official company policy is that as long as they have the ingredients, they'll make it for you. That's why they are able to price on a per-ingredient basis. Quesadillas aren't on the normal menu, and neither are nachos, or single tacos, etc, but they'll gladly make those things.

I'm cracking up imagining your mom arguing for restaurants to make other restaurants food

ST LOOOOOOUIS. REPRESENT.

god I love that flying saucer building.

anyway, this is the kind of hard-hitting journalism the RFT is known for.

relevant: "we learned a few things and were left with a few questions. Namely, why did we do this?"

Carnitas master race unite.
Carnitas is the king. It's too bad the only really reasonable burrito option for me is Qdoba. Their chicken is pretty tasty so I can deal, but I'd much rather have good carnitas burritos most of the time.

When it comes to tacos, lengua > carnitas > al pastor > carne asada >>>>>>>>>>>>>> pollo
Chipotle and Qdoba are butt. They got nothing on my local taco trucks.
Nobody in here is comparing Chipotle or Qdoba to real mexican or central american food. Chipotle has its own flavor, it's like mid-American tex mex.

I recently ordered the quesarito and after the woman working asked what the hell it was, I tried describing it to her as best as I could. Instead of making a burrito with a quesadilla wrap, she made a quesadilla with burrito filling. Not exactly what I wanted but eh. It was greasy as fuck though! It wasn't that great either. Oh we'll, there's always next time.

How are the nachos at Qdoba?

When I lived in upstate New York, a crappy fake Mexican place had really awful (but really tasty) BBQ pulled pork nachos. Is this something I could get replicated at Qdoba? I had a barbecue pulled pork burrito there last weekend and liked it, and it struck me that perhaps I could recreate my beloved nachos.

We went out for Chipotle a couple of weeks ago.

Let's just say that 30 minutes later, I was racing down the freeway and almost didn't make it home.
