I was saying to Lambtron last night, "I like Devendra, but I hope he mixes up his sound a bit on this one. " He's a good songwriter, and way prolific, but I was hoping he'd manage to mix up his sound a bit.

And he has. Not by a Radiohead-like degree, but enough to reinvigorate my love for Devendra. Sign me up for this cult.

Cripple Crow is really good. The only way it could be any better is with a special cameo by Patrick Wolf on ukelele.

I'm fucking blown away. This is an incredible record.

Now let's hope the new Vetiver disc (which I have even higher hopes for now!) is of a similar quality level.
