The Dark Knight Rises (Batman 3) - No Riddler

Looks like it's shaping up to be a really different Batman movie. We've had gothic Batman, campy Batman, and "realistic" Batman, and now we're getting an insane Batman movie with anarchic, apocalyptic vibes, judging by what we've seen so far.

I wonder what the "NO MORE DEAD COPS" guy would make of it.

Why does it allways look like in the footage we have seen that Batman is getting his ass kicked by Bane?

Batman is wearing all that armor so his punches and kicks cant be doing THAT much.

Same reason Ras put up a pretty good fight in Begins I suppose. You'd think someone as well trained as Bane would know where and how to hit a man wearing armour. Plus I assume Bane's got the upper hand physically.

Because that's kind of Bane's thing.

Also, Lucius says in TDK that making the armor lighter has the trade-off of making him less protected.

I'm more curious what Sassy Overacting Extra With Slick Blonde Hair thinks of it

I like how every director seems a fat, bearded nerd, in a square sweaty shirts hidden in studio with green screens everywhere, while Nolan shoots in the streets of New York, perfectly shaved, boss hair, classy coat and wall street boots.

because he's British. Rule Brittania!

This stuff coming out of New York just looks like part of that massive brawl that was filmed in Pittsburgh. Just different locations of Gotham. So weird to see them break up such a huge scene across 2 major cities and 2-3 months.

EDIT - Nice, I'm a member now!

Batman...reading Batman comics...

Didn't Captain America autograph his own comic for a kid in the recent live-action flick? I'm sure I saw a Cap comic book in that movie.

It's not entirely strange or fourth-wall busting to have Batman comics exist in the Nolan verse. However, im sure it's just reading material for Bale.

Bale loves batman comics. He allegedly wanted to take part in a movie after reading The Killing Joke. He asked his agent if anyone was making a Batman movie, and conveniently Nolan was doing one.

GAF so silly sometimes.

Cap was a PR-machine for the US Army. It's only logical they'd make a comic out of him for PR-purposes.

So, maybe this is a stupid question, but how exactly are the 100's of fights between the other people in this scene choreographed? I mean, is it just some random made up sh*t, like 'hey you punched me 5 times, now I get to punch you too!' or is there more to it? Also, some fights seems a bit fake. I know people are not supposed to really hit each other, but some people are really just waving their arms here.

Otherwise: awesome footage! It seems like Nolan has indeed found a way to surpass The Dark Knight. Set movies look epic!

I'd have a boner too if I was in that suit.

I'd do everything in it.

So there's no chance someone would pen a Batman comic within the Nolan-verse? That seems believable. That'd be fourth-wall busting unless the author within the Nolan Batman world altered Batman's origin from....ugh, this some geeky shit I'm typing right now.

I wonder this too, i watched Gladiator a while back and during the opening battle when the roman and barbarian troops clash together you can see how this one barbarian dude is just walking around with a huge smile on his face, he is not hitting anyone and vice versa, eventhough he is right at the front lines. Pretty funny.

i think it's pretty fucking hard to control these huge battle scenes.
