I really hope not too early. I don't want to stand in line for hours for 6 minutes when I also have already purchased tickets for MI4 Imax for Fri the 16th.
If I get there early and see there is already a huge line and I have to wait hours for it I might just walk away. Much rather do that for a 6 min prologue + 2hr movie on a Fri night.

Please explain. Take a screenshot. All the links are provided in this page. I didn't use any RSVP code and all it asked for is username/password and basic information when I got pick up the ticket.
Use links from shagg's post above, you dont have to enter any RSVP codes.

I wasn't prompted for a code. I clicked on the NYC link to get tickets, then had to create an account for gofobo after which they emailed me a link to confirm account, and then finally after confirming my account it led me to the screening passes page.

Its free. So for those who were only planning on going to see MI4 for the prologue don't have to spend money.
It also makes sense if you close by. I work in Manhattan, a close 10 min subway ride away from the theater, and live in Queens. All in all it won't be too out of the way for me.
Now if I get there say 1-2 hours early and already there is a huge line, then I might decline and just go home since I am going to the MI4 showing in the very same theater later in the week.

Is the list of cities final or are there still a few to come? Just wondering because there is a full IMAX in my city but its not on the map.
The prologue will be only shown in IMAX theaters with projector technology; not digital technology.
So the dots you see on the map, or the cities and locations, are the only IMAX theaters in the country which are considered "true" IMAX theaters and do not use digital projection. These theaters will be the only ones with the prologue attached to MI4 and the only ones that have the free screenings.

as per the 2nd link, any IMAX that has a "D" under its format WILL NOT SHOW THE PROLOGUE:
Format key:
1570: 15-perf, 70mm-- yes
1070: 10-perf, 70mm--yes
8/70: 8-perf, 70mm--yes
D: Digital --no prologue
They always overbook these things, but a couple hours should be enough.

The footage was incredible, and will put to rest any concerns people may have that TDKR won't live up to The Dark Knight. Apparently there were scenes where it was unfathomable how Nolan could have possibly managed to shoot them practically. Sticking to his "fuck-CGI" guns....so awesome.

really want to see the preview at Lincoln Square, but I am just so busy with work and working long late nights before the holidays to have the time to get tickets, wait in line for hours, etc. *sigh*
