<Catwoman> He's behind you.

<Batman> Who?

<Bane> Me.

This is totally a bishoptl gif.

After watching the trailer, I'm intrigued more than ever by the idea that Bats is going to catch the equivalent of his beatdown in Knightfall. Which was, more or less, an entire issue of Bane just curbstomping Bruce, Drago vs Creed style, with no one to throw in the towel. I'm not sure what they can get away with in PG13, but I want weak-kneed audience members puking in the aisles.

Seeing how poorly the choreography has been in these movies (and lol and all the whiffing in the trailers), I wouldn't have high hopes for a very grueling fight

I'm excited but fucking hell Nolan is doing it again with the day shots.
Batman looks stupid and completely out of place running around a snowy city in broad daylight.

Thank god. I'm tired of movies only knowing how to create atmosphere via darkness. (Games too!)

Damn, GAF, that was quick. Also, even though I've seen every trailer, I have a strong feeling that I have no idea how the hell this movie will actually play out.

I think there's a distinct lack of danger in any of these trailers. I don't feel concerned for Bruce or the city at all. I feel like I'm watching a Universal Studios ride. Trailer contents tagged for those on blackouts.
Collapsing stadium danger ruined by lead player casually swatting away the guy behind him and then turning around casually. Riot shots at what appears to be at city hall or some civic building are really clean, too controlled. Bridges blowing up, no cars or people on them like it's a demolition. There's no sense of panic or tension anywhere. At least in some of TDK trailers there was that looming danger via a charismatic/insane Joker portrayal, good action shots. The only scenes I've liked from this one are the 1 on 1 Caine & Bale bits about Alfred not wanting to bury another Wayne/failing to protect him. There's good emotion there.
I'm just failing to see why people are excited other than the potential of Bane delivering something great because of the comics.

Because a bunch of us follow the news and we know there is a lot more to the movie. All the trailers are similar even for tdk.

I guess the various trailer bits of citizens being rounded up, beaten in their homes, blindfolded and placed in a chair, and end up in a hole with Bruce Wayne. Just another weekend in Gotham!

Fuck, I cranked the volume up and watched the trailer.

That gave me nergasms, goosebumps all over man.

Can't wait for this. It is going to be a 2 hour 45 minutes long epic movie.

Joker killed 4 people in the entire movie, He didn't even have the guts to have a failsafe to Destroy both the boats.. Even from the trailers I can see Bane will kill 100s alone and would have had a failsafe to blow up both the boats if they failed it blow it up themselves. I think you misunderstood the whole concept.

It will be like a ballet I've been told

No.

Um he pulls out a backup trigger to blow up both the boats. Unless you mean they should have blown up automatically, but Bane loves his manual detonation triggers too, I think we've seen him pressing it 4 times already, he's obsessed.

Why would you want your cinema to be full of puke.

Might as well count up the joker kills from memory:
Bus Driver
Gamble
Cop at redlight before the chase
Couple of Cops, peramedics, criminals, and the living bomb via cell phone
Roasting Lau on top of the money
2 Cops guarding Dent

That's just the people I can remember him personally killing

Then there's death's via his planning or deaths that can't be proven to be Joker or not:
Fake Batman (can't prove or disprove if it was him personally)
Rachel
Unknown amounts of cops during the chase (the other SWAT van, 2 or 3 cop cars, the helicopter)
The Judge and the Commish
The 2 dead people in the room (Harvey and Dent)
Unknown bystanders in the hospital, or the passing cars he shot up as Batman rides towards him after the truck wreck.

No.

Having just seen The Dark Knight, Joker was able and willing to blow up both boats. And the difference between the two is their purpose: Bane is "Gotham's reckoning", Joker just wants to watch the world burn.

Cons: Trailers lack a sense of danger.

Pros: Hope for Bane given the source material.

Welcome to opposite land, folks.

Do we know that Joker did in fact kill the bus driver?

Any way, I can't even begin to comprehend how you can say there's a lack of danger from the trailers. Our first glimpse of the movie was a fucked up Gordon in a hospital begging for Batman to come save the day. We've seen what appears to be a very fucked up Bruce coming to and being shocked he is still alive, a certain character being blown to pieces (for the sake of spoilers, I know it's clear who it is in the trailer), groups of citizens being beaten and presumably kidnapped, and Gotham being cut off from the outside world.

What does it take to get a sense of danger across?

This.

Well he shoots the bus driver in the chest, we can assume he killed him.

Pencil trick assistant!

I'm really not feeling this one. It's strange to think how hyped I was for TDK (mostly anticipating Heath Ledger's Joker, who delivered in every way), and now . . . nothing. Half of it is that I have zero interest in this version of Bane (where's the charisma?) and the other half is that my brief glimpses of the riot scenes have left me totally cold. It's hard to care about the fate of Gotham's faceless masses. I'd rather the movie dispensed with the army of cops and the collapsing football field, and focused instead on a small set of characters and their public and private conflicts.

Maybe we'll get enough of that after all. I'll probably end up enjoying TDKR if it's more disciplined and personal than it appears in the trailers.
