I love Avengers, like Iron Man 1 and Thor, and hate Hulk, IM2 and especially Cap. So 50/50 so far.

I like Iron Man and Avengers, haven't seen Thor, dislike Hulk, hate IM2 and Cap. But Avengers is definitely the best of the lot. I think it's pointless to make standalone films with them to be honest, it just won't feel the same.

ANYWAY BATMAN

Fucking BANE!

High praise, especially considering how you didn't like the other Marvel movies iirc.

Interesting.

even though I still like Begins and TDK more I would go so far as to say the ensemble cast/characters(even supporting) of Avengers actually works better than TDK's.
every single character was equal besides maybe Maria Hill.

Never thought I'd say this, but Nolan better really deliver with TDKR, lest the Avengers be the best superhero movie of the summer.
Dude he could take a shit on film and air it on YouTube and it would be better than Joss does Bay's The Avengers.

Just a thought....what in the hell is Bane "punishing" Batman for exactly? Dude hasn't been around for 8 years.

I'd have to guess it has to do with Bruce stopping Ras Al Ghul in the first film from destroying Gotham. As to why it takes 8 years for him to punish him, who knows.

If Alfred cries, I'm going to lose it.

"You are as precious to me as you were to your own mother and father. I swore to them that I would protect you, and I haven't." "I won't bury you. I've buried enough members of the Wayne Family"

Do we even know Bane's last name?
What if it is Bane Wayne or Bane Al Ghul.

It's not just that. The trailer is poorly edited and lacks any real punch.

Just the choice of shots and timing was poor.

Eg: They could have actually shown Batman saying 'Not everything..' THEN cut to him watching the city from high above '..not yet.' and it would have had a much bigger impact. Little things like that. Totally lacking punch in that trailer. TDK trailer fucking nails shit like this.

Maybe you are right but looking back at the 2 trailers for TDK, the shots are completely random and a lot of the effects come through because the music is timed perfectly.

I like the trailer, though TDK ones were better, and its def 100 times better than the first but it fails when it tries to build up to a certain point and you expect the theme.

Can't wait to see it in front of the Avengers in IMAX (next weekend since I am studying for finals this weekend). Helps a lot that Avengers seems to be awesome!

Maybe is just like Knightfall? He simply is obsessed with Batman and he knows Bruce is Batman just by observing him. I don't know if I'd prefer this or something related to the LoS like it's being speculated, I would like it but I wouldn't expect this movie to follow Knightfall so tightly.

I think that's pretty much the one thing that hasn't been spoiled. His motivation is still completely up in the air.

Hmmm... DO NOT OPEN UNTIL JULY 21ST
Between Neeson confirming he's in the movie and that little girl confirming she's young Talia, plus the on set photos of Marion looking like a villain, it's pretty easy to assume he's working with Talia and the League of Shadows.

SUPER SPOILERS
Yeah I know that he's working with the LOS but I have a feeling his goals are little different that Talia's. Talia has a motivation to obviously avenge her father and follow his ideals in destroying Gotham. But that doesn't explain Bane's dislike for Bruce or what he's getting out of it.

I think it'll be as simple as revenge. He's now the head of the LoS so he and his friend/lover? Talia decide to go back to Gotham to get revenge and finish what Ra's set out to do to begin with. Talia is fucking with Bruce Wayne while Bane fucks with Batman. Don't know what else he would come to Gotham to "punish" Batman for, other than for killing Ra's.

I think Ra's will have been like a father figure to Bane, so him wanting revenge is a simple step from that, if that's the case.

The question is really, why has it take 8 years. Though, I would randomly guess that has to do with his injuries. I hope there's not a retcon that says Talia was there at Wayne Enterprises since Begins, and that's how the LoS got the dehydrator.

I think
she's gonna be on Bane's side at first because she believes in her father's philosophy on balance in society and then accidentally fall in love with Bruce because of how his ideals contrast that. Bane will kill her for being useless and Bats is gonna get super pissed and we'll get a more even battle.

There's gotta be a spoiler free thread!!

Solo, you're up again (include the trailer in the op this time)

Super spoilers...more powerful than any spoiler before it.

What have you people DONE.

This is just the beginning.

I guess that could be it, but I just don't think that two villains having the same plan is a Nolan thing to do.

I think
she's gonna be on Bane's side at first because she believes in her father's philosophy on balance in society and then accidentally fall in love with Bruce because of how his ideals contrast that. Bane will kill her for being useless and Bats is gonna get super pissed and we'll get a more even battle.

Now I KNOW that isn't true. The rumors all point to Bane losing at the town hall and possibly biting the dust there (by Talia?). There's set photos of his mask being fucked up and kneeling to Bruce. Talia supposedly stabs Bruce there and then runs off to the "bomb truck"/Tumber/Batwing chase that we see in all the trailers, which looks like it's the final action scene of the movie.

As long as they're all marked, I don't see what the problem is. The problem is people thinking what they're posting isn't a spoiler because it's a rumor or been talked about in interviews. My golden rule is, if it isn't in a trailer, it's a spoiler. There are things said in interviews with Nolan that I would expect the hardest core spoiler avoiders wouldn't want to know and so on.

I dunno...why post it?

Why not?

Do you think this movie will make reference to the Joker at all?

I mean I know Heath Ledger is dead and the Joker isn't part of the story, but what is part of the story is that
Ra's Al Ghul is back
and apparently a crapload of prisoners are free as birds.

So...if you were the screenwriter, would you write him out of the story with a line, like he was killed in prison, or just not bother with it.

Honestly I wouldn't even talk about it. It's been 8 years and if there was any sense to Nolan's Gotham, Joker would have gotten the death penalty. We aren't talking about the comics here where these adventures needed to go on forever. Nolan's Joker is barely insane either, so that's not really a defense.

I'm googling like a mother fucker and not finding these set photos. If you have a clue where they are, a PM would be awesome.

I saw the trailer today for the first time and I have to say it gets a big meh from me, I am sure the movie will be fine but I really thought the trailer wasn't very good.

I think it'll be a little more general than that.
Bruce needs to be punished for daring to try and save Gotham. It'll be less to do with killing Ra's and more to do with what his actions have represented. I just don't see it being a simple revenge plot. That's boring and pedestrian for the kind of scale and ideas these movies have gone after.
