HOLY CRAP

The bottom half of the poster is still a mess.

Is he supposed to be standing on a mast or is GOJIRA BATMAN about to tear Gotham a new one?

They really should've shot some studio publicity stills (like they did for TDK). This and the previous one seems like desperate attempts at getting the perspective right of the old stock.

It's intentional to show how immovable the concept of Batman is.

As in, even after Wayne dies, and Blake takes his place, Batman is Batman.

Yeah this is really odd. Why do they keep re-using TDK poses/pictures?

I know there was a PR shoot early on in production. When the first ever picture of Bane was revealed, it was from a PR shoot. There was also talk about a "great" Catwoman shot which would convince people who were on the fence about the character. Was that ever revealed? How come shots from that shoot aren't being used in the promos?

DM ANSWER ME!

It's STILL a reworking of a TDK promo image :lol

WB's laziness in marketing this knows no bounds.

Oh they are definitely marketing this now, it just seems they cheaped out on shooting publicity/promo studio shots. TDK had so many, they seem to have decided to use them instead of reshooting.

The only studio-esque shots they have shot for TDKR are the RISE character posters, because they probably needed some promo photo material for Bane and Selina, anyway.

Well that's what I mean. WB's line on TDKR marketing seems to be quantity over quality. There's a ton of it, but most of it stinks.

Hopefully it isn't suffering from a case of THIRD MOVIE CURSE.

I'm not worried about the movie itself, but WB's whole marketing strategy has just been dreadful. They know the movie will sell itself and as such, have put absolutely no effort into anything.

That poster is balls, should have left Batman out of it. WB marketing for this one has been pretty shitty compared to TDK. Dat lack of Joker effect.

those RISE posters and those landscape posters are great, been seeing them pop up across the city.

The posters are good and so are the tv spots and trailer. They don't really have to try to hard compared to DK to sell you on batman.

I think it's a cool concept that the films chronicles the life and maybe death of Bruce Wayne.

It' pretty amazing Nolan stuck to his guns and was able to get a definitive ending to this narrative.

They know the movie is gonna sell itself. Why work hard when you can hardly work?

Don't get this line of argument.

Yeah the previous movie did well, but doesn't mean you do bugger all for the next one.

If anything, WB should've ramped up the marketing for TDKR, post avengers if they really wanted to reclaim dat opening weekend record.

(Still talking about the print division posters/e.t.c. and not the trailers/tv spots etc)

my friend's brother is Batman and he said he's going to beat bane.

Plus that poster is awesome, Gotham gets burned to ash.

THEN THEY CAN REBUILD IT INTO A NEON LIGHT FILLED CITY WITH GIANT STATUES!

While I agree with you and Solo, I don't think your average consumer is going to even recognize its the same pose or shot from TDK. NYC is blanketed with TDKR posters all over the place and while my friends have pointed them out none of them have said "hey wait a minute that's the same one from TDK".

THEY BETTER RE-DO THE BAT SYMBOL ON NYC SKYLINE!

Heh, as someone that's only been to Chicago once, and didn't get in much site seeing downtown, the Trade Building (Wayne Tower in Begins, i.e. "We're right on top of the main hub and it's gonna blow"). I remember how impressive of a building it was, and it looked to be a pretty massive building (which it is)

But the view of the building from the Sears Tower, puts it into proper perspective :O
