I distinctly remember Liam Neeson specifically saying that he was not playing Ra's in BB before release, so this may be similar

Rewatching Begins...

They shoulda kept Katie Holmes man. She's immensely more likeable. There's something so jagged about Maggie that just makes me cheer when she goes kaboom.

Bleh the only thing likeable about Katie Holmes was when it was cold in the batcave.

Her performance was just...there. It wasn't that annoying but it wasn't particularly good either. Maggie Gylenhaal's was no different (and she didn't have much screentime anyways)

Yup it's very weird. And her death would have had much more of an impact on me if it had been the same actress, not even necessarily Katie, but if Maggie had been in BB same deal.

You guys are under the pretense that Katie Holmes was available. She hasn't been available for 8 years.

She did some crappy RomCom when TDK came out. She was available, she was just told not to do it by Overlord Cruise.

Prolly the arrowgead flashback scene, I thought that was well done and the girl looked like her

I've argued this 100 times but yes Katie played Rachel much better. With her we can see how Bruce would be so into her. How she was likable.

Maggie played her completely different. I don't know if that was how she wanted to play it or how Nolan wrote and directed her. But the Rachel in TDK is annoying and really ungrateful towards Bruce who is going through tons of shit. When she dies the emotional impact that should have been produced never emerges.

It would have worked better simply for continuity but also because Katie played her more like someone who Bruce would have loved. She also seemed to care about Bruce and his troubles where as Maggie just seemed annoyed with Bruce the whole time.

Maggie is the better actress but in this comparison she was the lesser.

Was hoping somebody would post that.

*snip*

Yep, her character as written and portrayed in TDK was a total mess. One of the biggest missteps of the film. She might as well be a different character from BB, where you believed Bruce and her had something, because she was totally cold and didn't sell the romance with Bale at all. I somewhat believed her relationship with Harvey, but the triangle didn't work.

I'm not sure how to post news of an actor saying they are NOT a certain character. So, I'll just post this link and tell you that's what it is. Click here if you want to know what actor is not what character. Supposedly...

Total bullshit. Theatricality and deception, etc etc.

Really? I'd say Ray Winstone was actually one of the few decent elements of Indy 4. His character was actually likeable and enjoyable on screen unlike basically everyone else.

Couldn't disagree more. The problem is that we're barely invested in the character or his friendship before he betrays Indy, so it's like... who cares? They he switches sides on and off again, so we barely understand where he's coming from. It felt like he was an element from an early draft where he was more important or something. Just a totally pointless character.

Fan recreation of the trailer music - not bad, still waiting upon the actual release though..

Also this was posted from NF forums

I went on the official website to check to see if there was any new viral stuff happening, opened a second tab, came back to find the trailer playing! Ahhhh! All I saw was one shot of the bat-pod - and it was very striking.

Long story short, I was inspired to dick around and write some Rises inspired music. Check it out. It's short, but it's pretty neat.

There was a huge missed opportunity by not calling this movie "Batman 7".

Katie didn't play a character. She just stood on set, smiled, and recited lines. Even when her character is supposed to be angry she does this damn half-smile. At least Maggie acted.

Thats just how her face is man. She isn't half smirking on purpose but that just how muscles function.

Besides even with that smirk she is 100 times prettier than Maggie. She plays the damsel in distress, in love with Bruce, yet strong headed character much better than Maggie.

The character itself is limited and Katie fit it perfectly. Maggie made into something else which really ruins the love triangle because she comes across too dickish to Bruce. Why do we care she died?

Maggie looked horrible in TDK, I don't know if it was the clothes, makeup or hair. Katie was stunning in begins.

I remain to be convinced about hathaway

Like everything Batman, there's gonna be a split. Personally, the look at her emotional side in the trailer has convinced me. Plus her riding the Batpod... omg.
