The biggest missed opportunity for me (besides, you know, not making good films) was not having Zion be another level of the Matrix. It makes so much more sense than what we got!

Would have been better if he woke up at the end of the third film in the apartment of the girl with the rabbit tattoo on her arm with an adrenaline needle sticking out of his chest.

Hey, Path of Neo was fun, you even got to fight human-sized ants and yes, giant-mecha Agent Smith
 
Haven't watched X2 is years, but I remember being very good, and I was very impressed by David "Solid Snake" Hayter's screenplay that was able to juggle so many characters in the big finale at Stryker's HQ and give them something to do.

Unless you're Cyclops, who gets knocked out near the beginning and is mostly out of commision until the end, but hey, it aint his movie.

You shouldn't have. The Matrix trilogy is a combination of one stunning film and two epic, ambitious, gloriously flawed sequels.

Embrace your Matrix love. Only truly awesome people can understand it's genius and wonder.
 
The Matrix Reloaded has one of the best action sequences ever filmed. The chateau fight, which then leads to the motorway scene and the Morpheus fight on top of the truck. That whole section of the film is one of the best I've seen. Me and a buddy of mine skipped school that day to see an advanced screeing of the film, honestly at that time I left fucking amazed.

Speaking of good movies with {supposedly, never seen them} shitty sequels, I just saw the highlander for the first time and I have to say it was rad to the max.

It was also the best choreographed part of the fight. Neo doing his "cmon" gesture was great, but Smith's smirk of "Awww. He thinks he can stop me." was great as well.

Because Smith didn't need the back up. He knew he could fuck up Neo all on his own. And fuck him up he did.

And everyone talks about how Neo got the best hit of the fight with that bullet time face punch. But I didnt see a shockwave that displaced all the falling rain across the city come from that punch like when Smith punched Neo. That punch was so awesome, they couldn't show it to us up close.

That's what it was, though. The point was that Neo eventually stopped caring and accepted wherever Trinity was as his reality.

Man, the Matrix sequels were such a let down. Taking the focus off Neo, fights with no weight at all. And there's such cool shit in there too! Shit like The Architect feels like it was written first and then there comes a point where they just had to start slapping shit together before they ran out of time like club hell and the Indian girl in a train station bs. Hope the reboots in the next 30 years or so do it right.

I had to ask about that too given each film is listed on the site and then you've got the marathon option so I wasn't sure if your seat would get switched around given the marathon roll into the midnight release for TDKR and sure enough if you purchase the marathon ticket then you keep the same seat through all 3 movies. Heck of deal though for $25 considering full price for IMAX there is around $15-16.

Had to look up where Milan was. I will be in Pinckney for summer vacation and haven't really done a lot of nearby traveling. Been to Ann Arbor three or four times, max, in the nearly 30 years I've been going to Pinckney lol. Always good to know where other GAF members are. :)

On a more serious note, you need to stop by that theater again before you buy the $25 marathon. I just got off the phone with the theater and they said that the marathon wasn't IMAX, but regular movie screen only. The lady even asked her manager. They will still have the other two films in IMAX at 6 and 9, but you have to buy those individually. They were priced at $9.50 per on Movie Tickets. So I might still marathon it, but it's not as great of a deal. :(

Watching those matrix trailers takes me back! hahaha.

Its so frustrating, seems if the story is trying to be deep, lots of symbolism most directors/screenwriters can't produce a movie that flows well and gets the idea across. I really liked the religion/philosophical stuff from the matrix movies, but it just got so convoluted in the sequels. Then you have the problem with directors like james cameron, where you know the guy can write a great story and direct amazing things, but I feel with how smart he truly is, he always dumbs down his movies. But that is why they make so much money, appeal to the common denominator.

The revolutions worldwide release was 6am here! I had to get a note to b late to Spanish class, lol.
 
I'm watching Begins with the Mrs tonight. Does anyone else think Nolan was referencing The Simpsons with the Tumbler's 'Stealth Mode'?

Other than the Hollywood(tm) car chase and associated one-liners, (which I think are rather endearing) it's still awesome.
