I HAVE to get back to Cedar Point. Haven't been in about 7 years.

Everytime I went this was the ride I always made a point to get on. Just something about the slow-as-hell climb, and the momentary pause before it lets you go.

What are the two new rides, Dragster and Millenium Force like? My reigning favorites are DD, Raptor and Magnum. Even though I've only been able to get on the last one time.

You, Sir are wrong.

MF rules.

Dragster is basically a ride basically made to say "hey guys this has a 400 foot drop at the fastest speed of any coaster in the world. Oh, and it's done at 90 degrees. RIDE ME!"

Busch Gardens has a new ride that is basically a rip off from the Demon Drop but even taller, I believe it said 50 feet or something like that. Also a kid just died here recently from the Tower of Terror. Had a heart attack apparently. 2nd death in a couple weeks at Disney World so I would be expecting a spanish inquisition soon.

Millenium Force kicks all kinds of ass. I didn't think I'd live to say so, but I did! Then again, I'm a massive wuss when it comes to roller coasters...and most other things.

Sheikra is absolutely awesome....The 90 degree drop is just godly. The track is weird though on that drop but I had a blast on it. Funny how I couldn't wait to go again but as soon as that drop comes up I regret it.... I loved it though.

Kumba and Montu + Sheikra > *

Yeah, millenium force is awesome. The slow pause before THAT drop is sweet. Everyone, if they ever visit western Michigan, should check out Michigan Adventure park. It's got Shivering Timbers, the largest wooden roller coaster in the world. AWESOME ride, imho.

anyways... yeah. MF rules. Cedar Point >>>>> Six Flags

Oh yeah, and Tower of Terror was awesome at Disney, too.

I liked riding the Iron Dragon, man was it a pussy coaster. I wonder if it's still there.

Yes, the suspended one that sprays you with mists of water?

yes it's still there and as craptacular as ever!

I rode the DD last year just because I hadn't in all my trips to the Pointe. It was lame. I can't see how anyone would say it's the best ever. I'm a MF fan all the way. I also enjoy Mantis and wicked twiser. I like the the top thrill dragster, but damn it's a short ride.

Free-fall rides scare the shit out of me. :) I almost pussied out on riding Demon Drop when my senior class went to Cedar Point.

To this day, I have never been on Power Tower. =p I ride everything else, though (and yes, Millennium Force is the best ride EVAH!)

While not the most extreme, wooden coasters offer a unique ride. Personally, I find them a bit more scarry since they creak and seem like they might fly apart. I live less than an hour from the third best in the world (The Raven).

They're now building the worlds top "air time" wooden coaster there as well... The Voyage

Here's a video of what it'll be like.

I swore off wooden rollercoasters ever since riding my first one (since I was little) at Cedar Point (or Six Flags...can't remember). That shit HURT!..and nearly made me sick. I was NOT having any fun on that fucking thing.

You should ride the Gemini at CP. That's the *smoothest* most fun Wooden coaster I've ever road.

Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL is building some big coaster with a real 90 deg drop. And not just a one hill wonder like TFD and that other one. It looked pretty sweet under construction. PEACE.

Cedar point is the greatest park. I went to the six flags next to it before and I hated it, couldnt compare the cedar point.

Edit: ooo Yea demon drop sucks try the power tower

It's also been closed for about a month now.

You'd think the company that built TTD would learn from its mistakes :D

The last two times i've been to Cedar Point i've been able to ride the dragster, so i'm not complaining.

demon drop = power tower? (We have it at Valley Fair here in Minnesota. It's a 300 foot vertical tower that either shoots you straight up or brings you to the top then shoots you downward, right?)

I need to go to Cedar Point sometime in my lifetime.

Kingda Ka at Great Adventure.
GODDAMN! That looks terrifying. The ride up must be fukken murder.

So I'm guessing that's what the dragster looks like. I gotta get my car. Maybe go up there with my little brother at the end of summer.

Quoted for truth. I just went on the world famous Cyclone in Coney Island for the first time in a few years and its just a crazy scary as it was the first time. It just feels like its gonna fall apart when its your turn... and that's half the fun!

Ohio has the two best roller coasters in the world. Millennium Force at Cedar Point (best coaster period) and The Beast at King's Island (best wooden coaster by far). I would never waste my money going to any Six Flags.

Damn

I'd never even heard of the Power Tower. So is it basically a bigger Demon Drop? If so I might have a new favorite ride.

Taller, Faster .. the ability to drop or thurst upwards (You choose before you get in line). Also, I found the Demon Drop to be a bit to rickety (not a smooth ride at all) .. The Power Tower is smooth as buttah.

What are you waiting for? Plan a trip pronto!

Also, in the power tower your feet are dangling, so there is nothing in front of you so you really feel the height (while on the demon drop you're in a bucket). Do what I did on the dropping Power Tower (not the shooting one). Put your hat on the little thing they have for personal belongings, and when you get to the top of the tower, try to look over the edge and see it. Fucking vertigo :lol

And stop telling me how good Millenium Force is. Last time I went to Cedar Point (which was the first time in 5 years) I was in line for nearly 2 hours for the damn thing, and literally 2-3 turns before getting on, it started to pour and I didn't get to go on it. It still hurts, fucking 10% chance of precipitation my ass!

how exactly does one manage to hold on to their camera during such a ride? *_*

Notice the snow on the ground. It wasn't taken during the ride, the guy was actually standing up there.

I rode Top Thril Dragster when I went with my senior class. The only scary part is the "wait"...when you're just sitting there waiting for the car to take off. :D It's like, "Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit..." :lol

The rest is a huge blur...it's so damn fast. :)

Rock-N-Roll Roller Coaster at Disney is my favorite. 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and doing loopdy loops in the dark (other than neon lighting signs) while jamming to some classic Aerosmith.

Haven't rode on anything that touches it yet.

For those who rode it, all I can say is... "GREEN LIGHT GO!!!" :lol fricken awesome!

I've not been to Cedar Point, but I've probably ridden The Beast 30 times. My favorite coaster.

some people, when they go on the power tower, wait until they reach the top. While waiting for the drop, they hold a quarter in the palm of their hand, outstretched perpendicular to the tower. When they drop, they drop faster than the quarter, and the quarter falls onto their hand at the bottom. :D

At least they do that at valleyfair. Although the guys who operate the ride REALLY started watching out for that about a week after the ride opened, because the potential damage from a quarter falling from 300 feet high in the air landing on someone's head isn't good. :lol
