Oh, ok. Apart from latency concerns I don't like the idea of a pvp zone for endgame pve content.

Man, this game looks like it's ticking all the right boxes but I'm still worried about the mmo aspects.

Is this potentially going open beta at some point?

Edit:

Ok, getting different answers here :p and there's no such thing as 'combination pve and pvp' unless there's a flag I can put on to opt out of pvp and do pve. Otherwise it's just pvp.

You can get some of the best rewards (apparently) from Darkzone but you don't have to go in there, you can spend all your time doing missions and side quests and still get good rewards. I found a blue gun in open world just by exploring.

The devs have said they are yet to announce end game. I imagine it will be a combination of Dark Zones AND single/coop missions (dungeons). This is all speculation but I'm pretty sure there will be a lot more to end game than robbing noobs of their lewt.

Cool news, thanks.

I'm a bit of a carebear when it comes to rpg games, so I get that I might be the totally wrong audience for dark zone.

So gutted! Had a long day, came home and jumped on Division with 3 other mates then the 30 minute server reset came on haha. Will try again tomorrow but what I've played so far has been really good :)

So, there are (assumed 12?) main missions, like the one included in the beta, then there are a number of (radiant?) side missions, which I would imagine are repeatable?

That is it for the content outside of the Darkzone?, seems a little lite of content to me.

I have little interest in the Darkzone, it's a griefers haven, and I have no time for that kind of thing, I want to play and progress, not play, progress and get that progress reset by some dick online.

Outside of that, the loot and gunplay systems are fun, but there doesn't seem to be much of a game in it for me personally, the setting is nice, but it's really, really empty, and dare I say it, a little dull and boring.

Two negative things bother me after a couple of hours with the demo:
- encounters get triggered by different players, so when you go solo exploring you are forced to fight the EXACT same enemies again and again. That gets old quick.
- the map is not really helpful on missions where you have several targets vertically spread. Makes you go mad on timed missions.

I´m still on the fence.

I'm very pvp averse but I did enjoy it in there. It feels just like the outside world but you have that risk of losing your shit to some scumbag lol. Actually extracting loot is rewarding, especially when you manage to fend off a last minute attack at the EZ.

Most of my time will be pve but I will certainly dabble in pvp, especially if I can get a group.

Darkzone is really fun, I had the same feelings initially but there is a balance to the griefing. You will flag up as a hostile on everyone's radar and map and there is an xp bonus and darkzone points/cash when you kill the offending player(s). It's really easy to extract your goods and there are several spots on the map where you can do it, I think it's a good experience but I hope we see some variance in content. Framerate definitely drops a little but maybe it will be ironed out in the final version. You can get some really cool loot in there as well, certainly give it a try and see how you feel after. I like the way it can be really tense when you run into another group, not knowing if they're friendly or not. I joined a group of randos last night after helping them take out another group trying to kill them, we stuck together for a few hours and just patrolled, explored areas and hunting hostiles, it was really fun.

Reeealllly interested to see how the PC version looks. I'll probably get this on PS4 as there are a fair few of my mates on there that will be playing. But I'd love to pick it up later on with all the dlc packed in, in like a years time on PC. Just to see it. That is of course, if it looks stunning on PC.

Is there any confirmation of the end time of the beta? All I can find is that it ends on Sunday. Do we know if it will be Sunday night or morning? Specifically GMT if anyone knows.

Someone mentioned 12 main missions and 10(I think) missions for each wing of your base.
Plus all the radiant quests.

Damn it. By some miracle I was able to go home like 4 hours early. Which would've meant I actually could get a little beta time in on the XBO before my PC and PS4 versions went live.

However, because of my fantastic luck, servers are down.

Oh well. Looks like I will dig into a little Tomb Raider PC while I wait for the betas to go live.

Apologies as this must have been asked countless times, what is solo viability like on this game?

I'd like to play with other people (none of my friends have beta keys), so matchmaking would be perfect.

Can't be bothered with the Destiny route, i.e top end raids don't have matchmaking

Whatever the Darkzone is, it'll be pretty tough for lone wolves or people without scores of other people to team up with, because without support you're pretty much fucked, there are already organised teams with high end weapons preying on others.
Not surprised at all, and why I'm still a little leery about picking this up.

Never been a real huge fan of asshole simulators, personally, but damn if this game doesn't look good.

I think the gameplay systems are good, the gunplay is nice and visceral, and the loot system is decent, the UI and game map are a bit of a mess though.

I am just not sure of the viability, for me, of the actually game surrounding them, I am basically a lone wolf gamer, who doesn't have a large group of friends and relies on public match ups and matchmaking, and I think the Darkzone isn't particularly good for this type of player.

It hasn't been confirmed what the actual end game content is, but if Darkzone, and grinding missions you've already done, is it, then it's not really for me.

People need to remember that its a Beta and that progress doesnt carry over to the final game, aka dont judge The Dark Zone from the Beta. I know I will atleast once try getting Rogue rank 5 and raising hell:)

Exactly this jesus christ. Its like they dont see the beta title. Massive turned off a fair bit thats for sure and are keeping quiet about the rest for release.

Because who knows how old this build is compared to full release. Two months maybe,
since the delay of the beta last year.

Eitherway its pretty darn promising for a old build.

Intresting about another Faction.

Incident Report #5: There Be Dragons
Rioter 1: What about over by the UN? Gotta be a lot of rich people there, diplomats and foreigners. Gonna be easy pickings.
Rioter 2: Man, are you crazy? That place's like the killing fields.
Rioter 1: What do you mean?
Rioter 2: Have you seen those guys over there? Bunch of badass special forces types, with some serious hardware too. Top of the line, not that weak-ass JTF shit.
Rioter 1: Huh.
Rioter 2: And don't think they're gonna give you a trial or nothing either. They'll drop you soon as look at you. So no way, man. Anywhere but there. -----END-----

Looking at the UN building on Google Maps its right in the area of what we know is the world in The Division.
