The Division Beta Thread: Make Manhattan Great Again

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.
Dumbass question....how do I throw a grenade on PS4?

Game is pretty damn fun, have some blue gear and a shit ton of jackets and that is without even going to the DZ yet.

edit: Oh and I don't give a shit about your kids Marion!

I can't bring myself to enjoy this game. Story gameplay seemed bland and there's nothing to do in Dark Zone but extract materials from NPCs and other players. Was really hoping the beta would sell me on the game, but it pushed me as far away as possible.

I played the alpha or whatever it was a few weeks ago. Is this new beta basically the same thing?

Also, any word on how the X1 compares to the pc version e.g. X1 is equivalent to medium PC settings etc. etc.

Left on the D-Pad, you will go in ''grenade mode'' aim and shoot with R2. If you wanna cancel the grenade, press circle.

Are you sure you get level 8 blue gear at the hospital when you rerun it? I was going to do that, but it wouldn't let me change the difficulty or level and said the reward was green weapon, so I just didn't do it.

Yea you have to switch to hard mode
Y or triangle should ask which difficulty

the level of detail in the city of Manhattan is really impressive...the cover system is also very well done...I also just realized that there were more graphics settings which I didn't see initially and some of them were not maxed out...game still doesn't look as photo-realistic as the earlier trailers but it's still a nice looking game considering all the detail they packed into the city

How has it improved over alpha?

I played alpha and enjoyed it and want to keep things fresh for release so I may pass on botting up the beta unless its worth while.

etta

my hard graphic balls
31 people online on my friends list and not a single person playing the division. Eight people online on my xbox and two are playing......da fuq

Marketing must be doing work if not a single person on my PS4 list is playing. Also more xbox threads on the forums. Wondering if I should switch my pre order given how similar they look graphically.
When is DF doing their write-up?

I'll grab it anyway since I had a lot of fun with what little is there but I wish Massive would go a bit more in depth as to what we can expect in the whole game, will there be more things to do in Dark Zone, what else is there.

I'm in anyway since Amazon did a an error and I'm getting my copy for 16$ so no way I'm cancelling it but I played a good 15 hours and had lots of fun, I can see it being repetitive when the game release but hopefully there'll be a lot more to do.

Absolutely nothing in this beta has impressed me one bit. It still looks and feels like an average third-person shooter.

I'll stick to Destiny. Pass.

I agree. The city is packed chock-full with detail. Sometimes there's so much detail and it's so sharp that it's distracting, to be honest. These first screens are like that, all those garbage bags in the street looks so clear and highly detailed, it's insane.

The only complaints I'd have about the graphics is that the distant buildings look pretty bad, texture-wise, and the lighting can look very, very bad when it's clear weather.

Eh. The game does look good, but It's massively (heh) downgraded from the E3 2014 gameplay. The fidelity is not there. Not even the PC version looks like it.

From what I've played, load time seemed a LOT faster on PS4 when fast traveling, game seems more responsive when doing a 360 quickly compared to Xbox One but they'll end up pretty even. Fire and smokes seemed better on PS4 but I could just be crazy as well.

I hope DF will cover the beta.

I'll stick to Destiny. Pass.

Gunplay and abilities are absolutely superior in Destiny. Willing to check the final version out, though. There's really nothing left to do in Destiny, regardless of how good the core gameplay is.

Just got my first snow/fog storm. Wow atmosphere is creepy as hell, seeing distant silhouettes coming towards you is seriously tense.

Leaving work early to go home and play this. Not really a shooter fan, I'm more interested in the rpg/mmo stuff and the setting. I'll have to see how I like it.

Played for a couple hours and I'm liking it so far. I'm not blown away by it or anything, but it's fun. The Dark Zone is definitely the best part of the game; I wasn't really enjoying it all too much until I headed there with some friends.

Not surprised or disappointed there won't be a way to import progress/characters into the final game. All of the ones in the beta were made without an unlocked character creator in mind. My character is black, but that's only because it's as close as I could get to brown.

I was exploring the dark zone together with another random player, and we extracted tons of loot. Basically each extraction point was filled with 5-6 players and everyone was friendly, only 2 or 3 times someone tried to kill. Alone. They died within seconds.
So far I don't see why you want to go rogue, you won't gain anything?

Game is fun and has a solid chance to do well.

My main concern is content.

I have explored almost ever part of the initial areas, heck I even walked each block and found 80% of the various collectibles. Did all content, have 50% blue gear, including about half blue mods for my M249 and M19 Police. Yes I played a ton today, certainly not my typical day.

Problem is this looks like I played about 30-40% of the non pvp zones on the map and the missions are somewhat repetitive. Is this going to be like Destiny where after a couple weeks I have completed all the single player content and only have PVP left? Has UBISoft said anything regarding content depth, schedule for new content, special events etc?

You get to take people loot and if you go to the highest rogue rank, after 5 minutes you get 777 dark zone credits. Every time your rogue timer finish you get some money.

My group mostly were pacifist and hunted rogues, when we had pretty much no upgrades left to get we went on a murder spree but come the real release we will probably most likely only hunt rogues and don't go out of our way to engage people.

You're right, but I'd rather just wait for new Destiny content anyway.

Even if Destiny didn't exist, I don't think I'd be interested in The Division.

Would getting a couple of weeks of play out of a retail game be a problem?

well.. im fucking loving the beta (xb1... the put me on the waitlist for PS4 version... bastards)

I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLy wish there was a crouch toggle... i wanna stealth so bad in this game.

Anyone have XB1-PS4 comparisions? i feel like XB1 is 900p it has that same fuzzy look that ACunity has... but thats just me eyeballing it... does it look and run the same on PS4? need to know which version to go preorder.

(saw the gifs above.... should i turn sharpness slider up all the way? i dont want to add sharpening if its basically doing what TVs do... fake sharpening post-processing filters or whatever)

I just spent time with my squad in the dark zone hunting other players and stealing their loot. I played the alpha but didn't like it then. Playing with a group is the only way to play this game. I went from no way in hell am I buying this to I am buying this after spending hours on it this time around.
