It's actually by all means impossible (well, all legitimate in-game means). If you get every skill to 100 you are at maximum level, but you still haven't got nearly enough perk points to get all of them.
I think I've missed how perks work.

Is it 1 per level? 2 per level? I was getting confused with skill levels I think. Either way, that doesn't mean you'll suck at a certain play style.

Fuck LAA isn't working for me now. :/

Patches it fine but Steam doesn't want to run it. Gives me an error code 51. I tried removing LAA and it ran fine.

*groan*

F this shite, we need a fix now. Unless Beth unlocked the damn feature themselves, which I doubt.

Yeah, you apparently can't LAA patch the new exe. Guess I'll find out if my complete stability had anything to do with LAA!

1 per level. It doesn't mean you'll suck, but you'll certainly be less effective. (And as I said before, I think that's a very good thing)

Ah right ok.

fml I don't see any improvements. It's not worse so maybe they did something with LAA on their own? Who knows. It's not worse though but not better either.

I was getting some weird stutter a bit ago so let me see if this fixed that at least.

They did, the patch I got earlier was like 64mb. Maybe you have to play the game first because when I tried to play it after it was installed already Steam said it had to convert it to the new format, then I had to download like 8gb again but after that it's been fine.

LAA people

"I can confirm it simply stops you from bypassing Steam. You get a Steam Error Code if you try to run TESV.exe without Steam. "

Gonna back up the exe again and check.

Yep, error with or without Steam.

I did the "removeallitems" command on my wife and then turned her into a companion and gave her some clothes to wear, but a day later she was back in her rags. WTF? I might have to wait for the "change follower's clothing" mod.

As I was saying last night, they need to fix the saves. I went back to the beginning area and the enemies I killed are still sitting there. I don't need to see them 10 hours later. It's causing bloat and probably hurting performance as many have posted.

In essence, this just patched TESV.exe with the Steam wrapper now. No fixes at all. As I said though, I'm not getting worse performance so I don' know. LAA is now gone. Hopefully we can test things further or get an actual patch soon. To me, this is not a patch as much as an exe replacement.

That is very disappointing since it means you can't avoid updates without playing in offline mode. :( Bethesda, why patch this of all things, especially after awesome Steam stats. I'm assuming that if pirates had been running the game it wouldn't show up on the Steam stats since it wouldn't mark you as playing the game on your friends list.

Pirates cannot run steam with the game anyways. Unless someone wants to educate me.

Very disappointing to see LAA not compatible anymore. The community who has used it and GAF itself is legit so if this has something to do with piracy well then, it sucks. This is a pointless patch and would rather have avoided it :/

Still on 1.1.21.0. So as Liquid say, I think its just a Steam wrapper patch and not a game patch.

Precisely. Let's just say we get an actually patch and we see improvements. I will rejoice. As of now this is useless until they deliver a true patch. As I said before, performance isn't worse and I had LAA before so maybe the new exe is.....better? Bah.

I'm just getting "Application load error 3:0000065432", nothing about "code 51". Weird.

I got that when trying to launch the exe directly. It should work if you launch through Steam. As long as you didn't LAA patch it :P

Anyone know of a mod where the game doesnt completely take over your mouse? like the mouse stays free and the mouse only goes in to the game when I click in the games window?

Heh I had three CTDs in a row after this update, for whatever reason. Tried to leave Whiterun through the front entrance, CTD, which also corrupted that particular auto-save. Tried to fast travel away, CTD. Loaded an earlier save, fast travel, CTD. Finally after that I seem to have stopped crashing. Hoping it's not LAA-related.

"Only now, they are hassling The purchasers of the product instead.

It fixed nothing. It changed nothing but the usability of the game for Legitimate owners of the product"
-via beth forums

That's how it feels like to me but hey, I don't know :/

That's a great PC update. I wonder if Steam forced Bethesda to implement the wrapper.

Also. Seems all talk of the patch on the Steam forums are being deleted. Nice.

Quite a few are reporting more CTD's. Even those who never really had them or had nothing to do with LAA. The game works fine for me but I've only jumped in briefly a few times to check performance.

I am using the Large Address Aware patch to allow it to use my 16GB of RAM.

uGrids to load = 9

All settings Ultra, 8xMSAA, High Res water, Enhanced Shaders etc. No crashes so far, consistent 30 fps outdoors.

U jelly GAF?

But I am thinking it may be worth it to install the game on my SSD. uGrids 9 takes a long time to load.

Can anyone test the save game manager? I don't have it but it's being reported that it's broke now. So maybe.........maybe, saves are fixed? Or broke lol ksdjhfksjdhf

Not casting this aside since we may very well get a patch that opens up the heavens but where is the documentation of changes? So sudden :/

In 35 hours of play time I have had zero CTDs. I have now had 2 CTDs within the space of 2 minute's play time without LAA enabled. To say I'm fucking furious would be the greatest of understatements.

Yeah, you apparently can't LAA patch the new exe. Guess I'll find out if my complete stability had anything to do with LAA!
Heh. I just had my first crash (after 55 hours of play time). Guess LAA was pretty good!
Anyone have a backed-up .exe from before the patch? And does such a thing as a no-steam crack exist?

Are you getting them when the game is trying to load a new area?
Yes.

Yes.

It's around. I don't have the link though :/ That is what's being advised as of now though, if you can do it. I unfortunately didn't backup my original exe.

I'm getting repeated CTDs now after the patch. I haven't tried other places, but every time I go to Whiterun I either crash immediately, or random stuff is invisible and crash shortly afterwards. I just removed all ini changes, and mods as well, and still have the same result. This sucks because pre patch, I've only crashed twice in 75 hours.

Also might as well ask this since this whole thing is bringing the game's bugginess to mind - anyone experienced or heard of some terribly annoying bug where NPCs in Dragonsreach randomly turn hostile? I'll be in there trying to enchant stuff and after a short while someone will yell out and suddenly everyone is hostile on me; I'm literally there on the enchantment menu, minding my own business.

It happens every single time.

I am at work and my Steam is currently turned off. Sitting in my Skyrim directory is the .exe with the LAA patch enabled on it.

Am I good then? What do I need to do to preserve this?

Guys, remember that Windows 7 keeps history of files, Right Click and go to Properties > Previous Versions, maybe that will work for some of you.

Can anyone help me find a backup of the old .exe? I'd quite like to play the game I paid for.

I would ask Evilore if that is ok since it can be viewed as piracy, according to some. I know it sounds ridiculous since all of us here have been backing it up just for the LAA patch. So in essence, this tacks on more DRM and makes things harder for legit people while pirates just don't have to update lol

:/

From bethsoft forums, via userexe[/URL]

It's okay to post the link to it right?

I would just play it safe or ask Evilore what he thinks.

I'm going to try to remember to back up my exe before launching Steam, then replace it and turn off updates (so it will only download more patches if I run the launcher). However I almost wonder if I should be paranoid about Bethesda or Steam trying to flag stuff if you replace the exe, sheesh. Why would they delete posts on the Steam forums about it so it looks like a conspiracy? *truth is out there picture*

This is one of those cases where I'd almost rather some sort of offensively honest statement came out, like "Our corporate overlords threatened to remove all funding unless we forced DRM on the executable." >_>

Only if you have automatic restore points or have installed something between now and the last skyrim patch.

My version of Skyrim has already been updated. Sorry. I can't help.

EDIT: I've just checked versions. I've got a original .exe dated the 10th. If someone checks with the mods. I'll upload it.

I have my Steam in offline mode. Thank goodness! EVentually they're going to release a good patch though and I'll probably want to go online.

I guess. :/

My last one is from the 18th so..... I don't know. It's not the very first exe.

I PM'd Evilore, he never responds to my inquiries so maybe he will pop in.
