Yeah a low bar indeed. It was a minimum. And now I feel like they're gonna keep the sterile look of it and even the very same console UI. That would be disappointing but am not expecting anything else tbh.

I read the dev interview, and it sounds like the eshop is pretty similar, it's just that the Switch 2 is able to load it much faster.

They did mention, specifically, that there's a new "Games for You" function or page with the express purpose of making it easier to discover high quality games.

So it basically sounds like they wanted to make it run smoothly, and wanted to make it more useful. Who knows what that'll end up looking like, but it's promising that they acknowledged it needed significant improvements.

Fixing the shovelware issue should be the highest priority for the store team. It hurts every good developer and benefits almost nobody but the perpetrators.

I'm generally for a free, chaotic, market. But for fucks sake add more genres/tags and allow the users to fine-tune their search. It's hell on earth to try to find anything with specific gameplay as it is now.
