i've been begging for over 5 years.

I don't mean to alarm you but you have dogs on your face
I think some people might be a little too dismissive of Noah, but it's understandable considering how Stewart's run was so legendary. I have faith, especially considering that the show has had such a great eye for talent through the years.

Jon, you will be missed! Hopefully he makes a cameo or two in the future.

He seems sharp, funny, and culturally and socially aware enough to pull it off, I think. It will certainly be different though. It is kind of surreal to see Jon go.

Also, she's doing movies now, that alone probably positions her as unaffordable. Some of the names whispered about before Trevor Noah got named - Louie CK, Amy Pohler, Chris Rock - Viacom probably doesn't want to write those paychecks. They went with somebody younger and relatively unknown likely for cost.
Yeah, of course Viacom had some dream candidates. Didn't Chris Rock say he'd only consider it if he could do it for just a year? It's simply not a job for people who have real active TV/film careers. It locks you out of too many other opportunities, even if the affordability issue were off the table. People like those dream candidates enjoy the flexibility of bouncing between all kinds of different projects. In practical terms, cost and opportunity are huge factors in reducing the pool of people who would ever commit to a late night show.

Going to be an emotional night for me. I've been a daily watcher for so many years, losing Stewart is going to be tough for me, especially after losing Colbert last year.

Like others have said, Oliver is killing it on HBO and I'm very excited for Colbert's turn as The Late Show host. Even so, Jon Stewart has been a cultural staple for me for so many years. His voice and insight will be irreplaceable. I look forward to what he does next, but for tonight... Tears will be shed.

I probably started watching in 2003-2004 or so. It's so unbelievably surreal that tonight is Jon's last night. It's just one of those things you didn't ever think about ending, I guess.

Man how long will it take to see all of these? I saw the first one from 1999. This is going to take forever!

Where were you last month*?

*was actually a bit more than a month

I'm not seeing how to stream this...
Maybe through the official app.
If you aren't in the US you would probably have to wait until the episode is up on the website
(which probably happens in the next 8 hours) or use some grey are techniques or websites, not that I know of any in this case.

I will just wait patiently ...

I'm in the US, but sadly can't use the app since we don't get tv (and even if I did I don't have the account passcode information). I'll admit I've been looking for grey techniques no no avail.

Will this be streaming anywhere? I'd rather watch it tonight instead of wait till tomorrow for it to show up on the comedy app

I figured a whole ton of former correspondents would be showing up tonight. This is so bittersweet. Happy for Jon Stewart to go do whatever he wants and relax, but I'm sad to lose him from my TV.

My guide says 11 PM to 11:51 PM.
Yeah, mine said the same.

I just realized that Bill Maher's Real Time is back tomorrow. It'll be interesting to see if he'll have a send-off for Jon. I always suspected that he resented Jon's success on the Daily Show.

Jon Stewart is simultaneously this generation's Johnny Carson and one of the few (if only) voices of reason and sanity in today's abysmal cable news media landscape. His contribution to it all will be sorely missed.

I guess he will probably only mention it in the stand up portion after some material on the GOP debate.

I've watched so much of this show I'm kind of glad I fell out of love with it and didn't bother to keep up over the past two years because this would be really hard right now.

Damn, the app doesn't have my provider and I can't find a link on their website. Hopefully it goes up on the site quickly.
